Team Mtg -- Today?

I hope it isn’t a player lead meeting. Never has it ever been a good sign to have the players lead a meeting.

People watch too many movies and see it, the team meets, has a heart to heart, goes out and it’s like a whole new team.

This is real life, that crap doesn’t work, it just shows that the team doesn’t respect the coaches and lead so to failure.

Actually, read up on Tee Martin’s story published recently. Our NC team led a team meeting early on and went out and won the NC that year.

It's not a talent problem, it's a heart problem.

This all day long. Now the huge question is “Why”? Is it that they don’t like Pruitt? Is it that they don’t like JG? Is it that the older guys don’t like freshman and sophomores coming in and playing instead of them? Is it that our coaches don’t motivate? All I know is what we saw Saturday is a symptom of the real problem. It’s the coaches responsibility to identify the problem and try to solve it. Will they and can they is the huge questions. I think we will know soon enough.

I think we know already.
They played hard against Kentucky then didn’t care at all after that. If it was a problem that could be solved it would have been during the off season

I have never seen a more sensitive group of players in my life including several girls softball teams I have coached: Jones offended them, Pruitt offends them, players coming out of the portal offend them, etc. Yet, their pathetic play doesn’t? If we put the cheerleaders on the field there would be less drama
As the father of a 17 year old boy, I guess I'm starting to expect it.

Apparently this team need two more offseasons of practice. One team meeting won't fix a thing.

It all makes sense now. I had wondered why they played so good against Auburn and UK and laid eggs the last 2 games and again Saturday. It's a lack of motivation. If they had wanted to they could have mopped the field with GSU but for whatever reason they didn't want to. GSU played like an inspired team while UT played like they'd rather have been back at the dorm playing Fortnite. Question is are the coaches trying to motivate them and they just aren't responding?

My question is did he, CJP, do something after the Kentucky game. Pitch a fit......say something stupid.......or something along those lines because to me that seems to be when things changed. For whatever reason his team isn’t fighting for him or each other

Wow. I sure had high hopes for Pruitt; But after reading some of these posts, I think it's been nailed. This staff hasn't the ability to motivate. We are in trouble. The team quit on CP last year and now they have quit before they started. I don't see ANY roll your helmets out on the field and win games ahead.

Cimaglia called the team meeting and is about to drop kick the entire team in the mouth, then first pump when everyone is flat backed

We only have a handful of guys who hate to lose. Listen to the comments of the players after the game as well as Pruitt's. None of them sounded like they were really bothered that they lost. Losing has become so commonplace to them that it no longer phases them.

The players are probably sitting in their dorm rooms playing video games.
Coaches probably went to church with bags over their heads.

The way Pruitt seemed to care during and after the game if they had a team meeting it would probably just be to hand out participation ribbons and smiley face stickers

Yep, he has certainly changed! What happened to the coach that kicked the white board over in the Florida game last season?

Jayson Swain pointed out that Garland playing meaningful snaps after missing many practices and exploring the transfer portal - at the expense of other players that did it ALL - may have created some locker room drama. I can see that as a possibility.
If that is even remotely true, then there should be a lot a PWOS playing and a lot less scholarships. I doubt he played any more than the rest of the porous line. If they played as badly as they did because their feelings were hurt, get them outta here.

Yeah. You hear about players "running thru a wall" for their coach. I don't believe we have that. To use a marriage analogy you don't know what goes on behind closed doors.

I think things are going great! Such a pretty day yesterday. So many warm and wonderful folks from Ga St. came up to enjoy the stadium where there is so much room for activities. Going to be a fun year !!!
Don't forget the Panthers sang Rocky Top at end of the game, so nice of them.
