Team gave up

List the specific plays and players that show the team gave up.

I'll wait...

Number 9 team at home blown out 49-10. 7 point differential first half 28-3 differential second half. They let up when they knew they had no chance of coming back. But what do I now it is just numbers, right?

But like I said, hope I never see it again.

Good news, you don't have to wait. If you read the thread my second post shows a snap shot of my point. If you actually go back and look at the scoreboard and the stats they will also support it.

Still waiting on you to show where I said Abernathy pulling up due to injury was me saying the team gave up?

Still waiting....

I'm going to call myself out and say I didn't know I needed to follow ajvol01 rules on thread posting.

My bad.

Still please show where I said anything about Abernathy pulling up due to injury. You brought it up.

I'm impressed. Most people are taking the beatdown and moving on. Hey I want Bama or TX a&M again in Atlanta. Don't be surprised if A&M gives Bama a great game or beats them after a bye week. Bama will be playing 8th straight game and overconfident after beating the 3rd string Vols. Ole Miss or someone will beat the Aggies but they would own tiebreaker over Bama with one loss. Vols have tiebreaker after Gators next loss.

Much to play for and Vols need all fans on deck as running the table will not be a piece of cake. Remember Peyton Manning's games vs. Vandy. Have respect for SEC opponents but Vols if healthy can make it to Atlanta. Anything can happen in a rematch.

Since you gave zero examples of plays where Tennessee players quit I jumped to the most obvious conclusion - the 85 yard TD run that made the score 49-10.

Still waiting on the list of plays where we quit.

I completely agree, just because I am disappointed with our performance against Bama, doesn't mean I think we can't compete with any team in the country when healthy. Our lighter second half schedule will be helpful but only if we take advantage of it. My Vols have my total support each and every week. GO VOLS!

Lol bama will destroy Texas A&M just like we would have without 7 turnovers and all of our injuries

Butch's decision to punt on 4th and 5 at the beginning of the 4th quarter while the game was still within reach (35-10) was the epitome of cowardice. We deserved to get that punt returned for a touchdown, and sure enough it was.

Fine, Tennessee players quit when the 85 yard TD run that made the score 49-10.

Please provide a list of plays that contradicts the first and second half stats and scoreboard.

Ever waiting on the Abernathy comment.

Coaches were protecting Dobbs because he is the one player we must have to win the east. I can't say I blame them. I am sure if the game were close he would have run more. With our D already depleeted and being shredded why risk it. When Bama scored the TD in the 3 quarter it was time to put the season and program ahead of this one game. We will play them again in Atlanta. I am looking forward to it. Think of it as the first half being over and we have them where we want them.

The coaches quit in the 3rd on that stupid FG. That's a punch in the gut to the players like Barnett who had been leaving it all on the field.

Team 120 may very well be at a cross roads, they either come out fighting after the by week or the season takes a turn for the worst .... Missouri, Vandy and South Carolina look to ruin the season for the Vols

They didn't quit, they ran out of gas. Injuries and fatigue really showed up in this game. Butch recognized this and kind of packed it in. This was probably a wise move in the long term with the bye week coming. Heal up, rest up, and win out should be the goal. We do that and we're going to Atlanta.
