Fulmer committed career suicide when he hired Dave Clawson. That guy has no buisness coaching in pee wee football, much less the SEC.Fulmer didn't want them to see his frustration with how much they suck and cost him his job.
John Pennington just reported on the radio that a "reliable source" told him the team found out about the decision from the media just like we did. Now they have a meeting planned to discuss before the presser at 5:00.
Not handled very well...
i hope thats not the case but what are they supposed to do? pull everybody out of class to tell them fulmer wont be back, its not like he got fired and we need an interim coach. the players hopefully feel a lil of this is their fault and put it together and close the season out strong and hopefully get to a bowl game. 6-6 does not guarantee a bowl game by the way
I was asking why you had to throw your comment in. It served no purpose.
i can't help myself. Fulmer has just over and over and over done things imo to point fingers at everyone but himself. Even when it has seemed like he's saying he needs to do more, it was always couched in terms of someone else not meeting expectations.
When i saw this thread -- that apparently fulmer didn't even go in and personally tell the players about this before letting it rip and get on espn, it just seemed to me to validate my impression of him, which is that he scapegoats the nearest target.
I've just never had much respect for him, especially not the last 4-5 years. And i know everyone on here wants to be all pc and what not and slap the guy on the back with an "'atta boy," but the truth is that fulmer more than any other person out there is the reason why you are where you are right now.
Its easier for me to say that from the outside looking in. But my personal guess is that "good riddance" is the thought more vol fans have right now than any other. Even if they can't bring themsevles to say it.
