We need to get to the top tier in recruiting. Bama, Lsu, uga, mich, oh state, fsu, and Clemson are always in the top 10 in recruiting. To get to the next level, we need to win on the field.

Depending on what he does the second half of the year, I might even put Malone up as a potential early NFL departure. He's already listed as a potential 5-7 round pick. Could rise with better production.

That LB corp doesn't inspire confidence next year.

Um, DK Jr. will only get better and Jumper has played lights out since being thrown into the lion's den, leading the Vols in total tackles. Those two starting next year are something to be very excited about.

I hope so. As in, higher production throughout the remainder of the regular season + SECCG + *cough*Playoffs*cough*

Hopefully DB's departure makes the others go "oh $#!^, it's our turn" and several of them take it to another level.

Yeah my money is on Taylor, McDaniel and Kongbo to be those next bad dudes. McDaniel will still be a tad undersized, hopefully could get to 245-250 by next year. I could see Taylor adding 10-15 more pounds And he's already the fastest DE. With Kongbo having actually played football, this time next year he could be what we thought he was going to be. Would be delighted if Austin Smith surprised me.

who do you think steps up as a big time DE? that position seems to be crucial in this league

Phillips for certain. Kongbo has the ceiling for it.

Maybe Picou has the lights come on? He was pretty highly regarded as a recruit.

Taylor HAS to be one of the next monsters on the field... He is the WGWTFA guy, afterall.

Those two will be really good next year, there won't be a lot of dropoff. Picou had a big play already this year, leading to our lone TD against Bama. Barnett knocked it loose but Picou nabbed it.
