TE Depth?

So next year 2016 we have Wolf and a bunch of players who have done nothing at the TE position. There can be no denying that this position lags far behind most other position groups. Easy to roll out names but I would rather see some experience and maybe a few accolades along with those names. In the Dooley years I was generally happy just to have enough players at each position group to field a team. Now I want some meat on the bone so I'm disappointed in the TE position. Anyone that thinks we are fine will see it completely differently if Wolf and or Ellis goes down. Always thought TE was Butch's bread and butter position.

Branisel played part of his freshman season and not since...having his name on the roster would have an effect on this dynamic?

Hard to play with a torn ACL. Branisel redshirted last year. He has worked hard and has plenty of potential.

It's not like we lost Ethan Wolf or anything. Good luck to him but this is an instance of a guy wanting PT and not getting it.

Smart move.. Remember he was a late commit when Jones arrived.. Maybe seeing the future and not including him

There's no way we can know that until the season plays out. Creamer and Johnson may very well do nothing, or they could be significant contributors before the season is over. Either way they will have a season in the program at the position under their belts.

I think TEs leave the program because they aren't used as receivers. Highly recruited TEs catch and produce TDs. It seems our style of play uses TEs as blockers majority of time.

Creamer is going to have to step up. Stocstill is a better athlete than people understand. He'll do just fine in his role.

Same SYSTEM they used in Cincy?

Kelce enrolled in the University of Cincinnati, where he played for the Cincinnati Bearcats football team from 2008 to 2012. After redshirting in 2008, he appeared in 11 games, playing at tight end and quarterback out of the Wildcat formation. He tallied eight rushes for 47 yards and two touchdowns along with one reception for three yards in 2009. The following season, did not play due to a violation of team rules.[2] After serving a one-year suspension, Kelce was back with the team to start the 2011 season. For the season, he saw action in games as a tight end and recorded 13 catches totaling 150 yards and two touchdowns. In his last season, he set personal career highs in receptions (45), receiving yards (722), yards per receptions (16.0), and receiving touchdowns (8), he also earned first team all-conference honors. In March, Kelce was named winner of the College Football Performance Awards Tight End of the Year.

Threw to this guy. :acute:
