TCU overrated?

They find a way to win every week. I wouldn't say overrated.
They have 5 wins over ranked opponents (at the time they played them) just as we do.

They have beaten 2 currently ranked CFP teams (KSU - 15 and OkSU - 22). We have also beaten two CFP teams also (LSU - 6 and AL - 8).

TCU is most deserving of a spot in the playoff if they go 13-0. But they will not be 1 of the "best" 4 teams in the country in the playoff.

And that is a balance the CFP has to handle. Like last year, Cincy was not one of the best four, but they deserved a spot in.

But if they're not one of the "four best" then they don't need to be there. Not all undefeated teams are equal. They got lucky KSU's QB got hurt in their game or they would've lost. The Big 12 is hot garbage and like the Big 10 that needs to be held against them.

The question for the committee is do they actually believe TCU could beat any other team in the top 7, if there is even a question on that, then no TCU doesn't need to be in there.

Their offensive line is poor. That will cost them dearly when they climb into the ring with a big boi team.
Teams like TCU can easily finish undefeated due to lack of playing tough teams during the regular season. But when teams like TCU get into a playoff, it's a wasted playoff spot because everyone knows they won't play for a natty.

Hard to say, but they're the best B12 team but there is parity amongst the other teams. The B12 OOC schedule is pretty weak with the exception of Texas playing Bama.

Same thing happens in every sport...............Teams make playoffs because of weaker divisions or conferences. Been that way forever.

Maybe overrated, but they are also undefeated. If they finish as such and have a conference championship, it is almost impossible to deny them a berth.

I would say lucky.
If not for some amazing luck Tennessee would not have played in the Fiesta bowl back in 1999. The pass interference penalty against Syracuse and the Stoerner fumble. Both games would have been losses. The best teams take the good fortune and make the most of it. If they run the table they should be in. Yeah they may get squashed by ugh or osu or whoever else gets in. But an undefeated conference champ has earned it.

They haven't lost, Vols have. It really is that simple.

It’s anything but that simple. UT’s one loss was on the road to the #1 undefeated defending national champs and were 3 plays away from out scoring them.

TCU beat a crap Texas team barely on the road. Yipee

Tennessee would beat Texas by 3 TDs in Austin and it’s not even debatable

The conference conversation needs to not happen. The CFP committee is tasked with selecting the BEST four teams in the country. If your conference is weak and doesn’t provide the appropriate level of difficulty in regards to schedule and teams played then that’s just tough. TCU would have three losses if they played an SEC schedule. Why? Because they aren’t one of the top four teams in the country and that’s what happens to those teams. The committee is finding their Cinci and Notre Dame team in TCU. They will be destroyed in the first round just like always.

TCU is no good. If Texas QB Ewers played a bad game against them, then they would have won by 20+. It took one of the worst QB performances I've seen by Texas for TCU to win that game. Not sure how anyone can watch that game and think TCU is a top 10 team.

The thing is, the committee has allowed this before and it never works out. Cincinnati, Washington, Notre Dame, Michigan State, etc...they get creamed once they get their chance! TCU will be no different. This is why I can't wait for the expansion. I will laugh at how these teams lose to the 4th/5th ranked SEC team as the higher seed..
