It seems like some of you would be happy if we just started transfer QBs forever.

At some point, the training wheels are going to have to come off GMac.

Or watch him light it up somewhere else
I mean, yeah, I am.

Starting transfer QBs every year makes a ton of sense for as long as the entire player base operates on effectively one year contracts.

Cheaper. Less risk. Makes a ton of sense.

Go get some developmental 3 star to fill out the room.

Barring injury, either GMac or Faizon will never start a game here. Both were paid a bunch of money and it is basically a guaranteed waste on one of them, if not both of them.

I wouldn’t. However you can’t roll into next year with only a RS freshman and true freshman.

I'm not going to argue you with you back and forth...you seem pretty dug in on your Aguilar opinion...but leading the SEC in passing yards doesn't make him the best QB. There are 3, if not 4 guys on that list that objectively had better seasons if you take into account all of their stats, both passing and rushing.

Aguilar was a great story and performed well above expectations given the circumstances, but I'll say it again, no one outside of Tennessee orange would make the argument he was the best QB in the SEC. That, however, doesn't mean he can't be next year.
He was one of the best. If the defense and kicking game had been better we would not have 4 losses and this conversation would be different!

Yes, he was one of the best. Top-5, certainly. I never insinuated otherwise, so you'll get no argument from me.

I'm only judging Aguilar on his play against the play of others, so the kicking game and defense, while they have an overall effect on the team, do not affect my opinion of him. Not sure the efforts of thise units change this particular conversation, but certainly a conversation about team success would look differently.

I hope not. This would be terrible
Which part?

The first part just is what it is. Faizon is not going to lose the job to a RS freshman and then stick around for an indefinite amount of time and wait his turn. GMac is not going to do the same thing to a true freshman.

The worst case scenario is that one of them starts next year and neither of them are any good. That would be terrible. I don't see how it would be terrible to go get a transfer who's better than both of them.

He’s a beast I must admit. But I still rather roll with Joey who’s going into year 2 of our system. That’s just me tho. Not gonna like you ask me on a different day I prolly take Hoover.

He’s the same qb as Joey with a higher ceiling due to having a full offseason to install.

Joey isn’t gonna be here because of the court decision taking so long to settle. Heupel would be foolish to wait on a coin flip court ruling that could go against him.

Yes. Because you have actual game film on them from their previous schools. You don’t have that with freshman and five stars. Unless you’re willing to stomach a “growing pains” year, Heupel can’t afford to pin his season on someone that has zero experience.

He had the chance to do it this year after the Nico situation but he didn’t go that route. Now he has to win next year more than this year or else it’s hot seat time.

You don't listen or comprehend well do you? It has zero to do with him wanting to leave here. The decision has been made for him. I can't dumb that down anymore. I know some of our fans aren't the brightest, but come on . It's not that hard to comprehend my dude
Why so rude? I wondered the same thing after I saw your post. Some useful explanations only came after.

What an obnoxious post to a reasonable question. Gonna have to mute you from here on out.

I don’t see why it’s taking so long. It’s the same situation as Pavia

George MacIntyre couldn’t beat Merklinger out for the #2 spot all year. We need a bridge to the Faizon Brandon era. Best case scenario is another year of Aguilar, next is the very best available 1 year guy in the portal.

uh....is he developing? We certainly haven't seen it if so. Why else was Merk next in?
He is a true freshman that needs to put on 20-30 lbs. Coaches didn’t want him to play. How does that mean he isn’t developing? At what point in the year did GMAC enter a game and prove he wasn’t developing?

Some of y’all really lack reasoning skills.

I been looking at some of the college forums on reddit and geezus. Seems like a lot of people are entering. People who are already starters and would be starters next season
It's crazy

Money. Entitlement. Enablement. It's the Wild West.
