TCU Josh Hoover to the Portal. Dang!

Him leaving will NOT be his choice. Not sure how many more times this has to be said. He will either be eligible and portal or not eligible and try for the NFL. Being hereditary will NOT be an option.
Exactly. TN nor Joey can wait for the court ruling rulings since the portal opens in two weeks.

So Joey will hit the portal to see if a team will take a chance on him, knowing the ruling may be b/t Feb- July - maybe longer.

Players’ agents and folks close to the program (not on TN payroll) are having conversations rt now. I guarantee you half the QBs mentioned in the portal will sign w/in the first 48 hrs of portal opening.

...this is a weird take, and definitely a weird place to plant your flag.

But the internet is a weird place. You do you, chief.
This isn't coming from me. It's coming from a select few that know a helluva lot more than you or me. But yeah, come back here in 2 weeks and see who's the real weird one, chief! Can't expect much more from a Butch worshiper, so go brick by brick, chief!

Not sure why you think this is true, at all.

Aguilar was one of the best QBs in the SEC this season. Knowing that QB's in the 2nd year under Heupel make a huge jump, it's ridiculous to think he won't be here if he's cleared in the next 2 weeks.
Because 3 different insider's that know more than either of us has said this would happen. There's a big booster willing to drop a bag on an elite QB, so when that presents it's you take it.

And I never said he wasn't a good QB, but he also choked in big situations and became turnover prone at the worst possible times. If by the off chance that he returns, then great. I've not nothing against him. Also, when Hubbs and Price say we're going big on a QB in the portal, along with the select few insiders that have said the same thing..Well, you know how this story ends.

Wow I didn't realize JA wanted to leave us. I thought that he loved it here. Dang man.

You don't listen or comprehend well do you? It has zero to do with him wanting to leave here. The decision has been made for him. I can't dumb that down anymore. I know some of our fans aren't the brightest, but come on . It's not that hard to comprehend my dude

How do you know they know more than we do?

That (Aguilar not being welcome back) is one of the dumbest things I've heard. Aguilar was on the edge of elite and did it with just a few months to learn. I'd be severely disappointed in the level intelligence that would be shown by severing ties with a known commodity, who performed at or near the top of the SEC, for a 1st year QB who's abilities are unknown in the system.

I'd bet @InVOLuntary 's deed to his pond that Aguilar will be back if he gets another year.

Because they have consistently been right. What exactly have you been right about that you couldn't read online somewhere. I damn sure know I don't know $hit. And I trust maybe 2 people on VN, the rest have no clue like both of us. Maybe I should say this in a different way. He won't have his decision of eligibility before the portal opens and closes. TN can't sit around and count on him being eligible. Like they've said, they expect Aguilar to jump in the portal regardless. I didn't say he wasn't welcomed back, he's not expected to have a decision and TN won't wait. I honestly doubt he gets another year anyway, so it's a moot point. I have no idea what he does if the decision comes after the portal closes. We will have already added a QB and there wouldn't be room for a 4th. I don't know if he could be added to someone's roster in the spring, even without a 2nd portal. My guess is the Music City Bowl will be his last college football game.

Lastly, if the 1 in a million happens and he returns, then great! He's limited as far as what he can do, but obviously he can still win some games and would probably play even better in year 2 of this system. I just wouldn't count on it.

So, if you were Heupel you would take a chance and hope Aguilar becomes eligible and not go after a portal QB? Then, if he doesn't then what? Ride with 2 QB's with zero experience against our schedule next season? Speaking of questioning intelligence! 🤔🤔🤔

Pretty stupid ass hill for you to die on.

Do you have any clue at all what you're talking about or have you just convinced yourself that something Basilio said is true and you're gonna to talk down to people on here because you think he's right?

Aguilar has already had his hearing and we'll likely know the outcome this week. That's before the portal and is better than a 1 in a million shot.

There is zero chance that Aguilar will be told to leave if he's approved. But if he doesn't get it, you and Basilio can thump your chest and claim some sort of victory while you talk down to the people on here.

Yes I’d take JA at a cheaper price than the big names and get some defensive players. If there is a big donor willing to pay they sure as hell aren’t smart with their money so I’m calling BS

You'd have to be a purebread idiot to turn away a veteran 2nd year QB who was arguably the best QB in the SEC in their 1st year

I think he didn't want to leave TCU high and dry in late Spring last year, and may be more receptive to coming here now, but I'm just a casual fan behind a keyboard.

I agree there is value in bringing him back due to experience in the system, and we should all expect improvement from him with an offseason to develop additional understanding of the offense and chemistry with the WRs.

But the idea that he was "arguably the best QB in the SEC this year"? Come on, now. No one outside of Tennessee orange would agree with that. Best QB story in the SEC? Sure.

I'm not going to argue you with you back and forth...you seem pretty dug in on your Aguilar opinion...but leading the SEC in passing yards doesn't make him the best QB. There are 3, if not 4 guys on that list that objectively had better seasons if you take into account all of their stats, both passing and rushing.

Aguilar was a great story and performed well above expectations given the circumstances, but I'll say it again, no one outside of Tennessee orange would make the argument he was the best QB in the SEC. That, however, doesn't mean he can't be next year.
