Anyone stayed there? It's got great reviews on Google but I'm always a little wary of the small non chain hotel/motels. Going to the area Memorial Day weekend for some dirt track racing. Any reviews or must visit places in the area would be appreciated. Going down a day early to run around Knoxville and campus.

Try to swing by Cumberland Gap national Park. If you do, when you go through the tunnel from Tennessee into Kentucky, you will enter the county I was born and raised 🤣. It's not far from where you're staying, maybe 20 minutes. You'll also pass the flea market, need to check it out. There's a place in tazewell called tasty freeze, need to go by for ice cream and an ostrich burger.

Is that the same place referenced in Jack and Diane?

Don’t know which direction you are coming from, but Museum of Appalachia is definitely a neat experience and relatively close to Tazewell. Worth the time IMO
