I don't think he knew how idiotic he sounded. He even got me confused trying to figure that out in live time.

I think he initially thought it was 3rd down, and then just kept rambling.
Why espn has a 50 year old woman calling football games is beyond me though. I mean do they want people to turn off the tv?

I have to agree about that lady broadcaster, who seemed to actually be trying to do play-by-play. I’m sure she’s a sweet lady but I think she might be in the wrong line of work.

I think she might be better qualified to broadcast women’s volleyball. I don’t understand men broadcasting women’s sports, or women broadcasting men’s sports.

The good news for her is that the color commentator was so bad that it made her seem like Al Michaels.

Exactly. Beth honestly probably gets extra flack because she's a woman. Let's just be honest. She's not great at her job regardless though. However, Kirk Morrison was one of the worst broadcasters Ive ever heard hands down. Poor Beth was put into a lot of awkward moments because of him lmao

However bad it seemed live, it’s worse when you read the transcript.

YES - my wife, who really just got into watching football these past couple of years even said "Are the broadcasters thinking KY is sitting on 3rd down and just not recognizing that IT'S FOURTH DOWN NUMBNUTS !!!...of course you need 11 yards !!!". It was one of the best highlights of my game viewing experience.

It was like the color guy was eating paint chips or something. A producer has to get in his ear and tell him . . . "Just say you think the're going to take a shot at the endzone!?"

Because ESPN is so woke. That’s why they put on a 50 something woman on college football. It’s the new adage , “anything a man can do a woman can do better “. They also knew almost nobody other than regionally was going to see it. From her standpoint, she’s trying so hard to prove she knows what she’s talking about that she’s afraid to say anything light or funny. And then they went and finished it off by pairing her with the mental giant who couldn’t decide whether to go for the first down on 4th and 10 or not.

Wow....I was watching and it didn't quite hit me just how bad that sequence was....that may be the dumbest train of thought I've witnessed from an announcer....and I've been watching the CBS jerkoffs broadcast SEC games for 2+ decades

I hope enough people complain about how bad Beth is that we never have to hear her again!

I don't even recall her saying anything about his NIL deal about free cookies per interception. Every other broadcaster has acknowledged it. She was awful.

Does the cookie giveaway include away games?

Face it…..we are even further in ESPN Purgatory after the end of the Ole Miss game. They probably PURPOSEFULLY chose the most annoying broadcasters they had on payroll just because they knew it would irk us.
