Go to map at stubhub (linked in the OP) and you'll see that as I type this there are only 695 tickets available from the site. Scroll over the sections and you'll see there are blue section 412 = 2 tix, section 411 = 10 tix, section 410 = 73 tix and section 409 = 6 tickets below that there are three separate sections that are blue and they have 3 tickets each. That's it for our side of the stadium. Beyond that folks are buying better cheaper tickets on the other side of the stadium because there's a substantial price difference (Tennessee side is more expensive - you can get lower level seats on the Iowa side for a cheaper pricetag than the highest section on the Tennessee side).

Also, UT sold out its allotment within days.

Iowa fans have been talking for a yr about not buying tickets through U of I anymore. The seats were always bad.

The open market was better.

Combine that with many utterly revolting against the AD and Ferentz, it makes sense that Iowa isnt going to travel as well as in the past.

Historically Iowa travels extremely well. Not this yr

Iowa travels well = yep all 23 of them.

You will be able to purchase tickets for the Tax Bowl for $5 at kickoff.

I just don't understand where all these "Gotta go to a Bowl" Fanz are? :hi:

Saying you're going to go hundreds of miles to a game and actually doing it are two different things.

Exactly. I bought 4 lower level on the Iowa side from day one.

Bowl officials say they are on pace for 60000 tickets sold. The official capacity is a little over 67000. The stadium can seat up to over 80000 but that is only if they bring in additional bleachers.

I'm always shocked by some Vol fans. Let's complain about ticket sales, even though we have probably sold close to 30-40k ourselves. I understand it may look better at capacity, we wanted a sellout, etc. but we can't make Iowa travel too! They have done a pathetic job, and even though we can fill a 102k stadium, not everyone can make or afford to travel to Jacksonville. We will be well represented in Jacksonville, and it'll just make Iowa look that much worse.

This... there will four in Orange on the Iowa side because I didn't whose side was whose at the time of purchase. I know of a bunch of others who will up there with us!

Not really. No one cares that much. How many Clemson and OU fans are in Orlando tonight? I don't know and don't really care. I don't know how many aTm or WVU fans were in Memphis.

You have no idea what you're speaking of in regards to the Iowa program.

Yes, it is a disappointing year. In that disappointing year, we will only have 15-20,000 fans there.

For this bowl to have 60,000 fans there is a great accomplishment. We usually take 30-35,000 to the Outback and up to 50,000 to the two Orange Bowls we've been to.

I would say we will travel quite well to Jacksonville, considering the clunker of a season that we've had. Keep in mind that Kinnick Stadium seats 30,000 less than Neyland. We just don't have the population base to support two BCS caliber programs.

Going off topic here, but both Wisconsin and Minnesota only have one major program and twice the population of Iowa. Combine the attendance of Iowa and Iowa St. and you could fill a 125,000 seat stadium. This from a state with a population under 3 million.

OK, I'm done now...almost. Iowa had 20 years of non-winning seasons before Hayden Fry arrived. We still averaged over 50,000 attendance per game. Don't ever question a Hawkeye fan's loyalty. There are just several out there who are trying to voice their opinion of the current leadership by not buying tickets.

Probably the same fans who complain about people leaving early or attendance at home games, but never go to games themselves because they have an 80" TV.

BrewHawk, no disrespect to the Iowa program. I was just stating an opinion on this game alone. I still look forward to the matchup.

Boca Vol, I am by no means saying that people will be like "OMG no Iowa fans, how pathetic of a program." I'm just saying when I watch a game I do notice the fan base and support. Like Bama vs. Mizzou in SEC game. But no big deal.

I must have misunderstood you when you wrote, "it'll just make Iowa look that much worse."

The only thing that will make either program look bad is their play on the field. Even so, no one will care 30 minutes after the game.

Stoops has already put their bowl game behind them...I think they may have done so before the game started. :loco:

For better or worse (depending on who you talk to), Ferentz has the team approach every game very consistently and professionally. This can be good when trying to avoid letdowns and deal with success, but bad when you can't match the emotion of the opponent.

I think you'll see a motivated Iowa team in Jacksonville as the senior leadership has been pretty strong all season.
