Just checking to see how Tauren did during summer workouts. Is his knee healthy? With camp coming up, I was just checking on him if anybody had any updates.

he had a torn miniscus. Played all spring with it. He had it scoped and was expected to be as good as ever. Haven't heard anything since May and was wondering if he was able to get after it in the weight room and on the field. BTW...nice avatar!

I haven't heard anything negative as far as Poole's recovery. The last I heard he was expected to be ready to fully participate in Fall camp.

I noticed you are from Poole's hometown. Did you go to school with him?
We are glad to have him around here. He looked great in the spring. He reminds me of Travis Henry. I don't know if Poole will redshirt this year or not, but it wouldn't surprise me if he worked his way into some playing time. I have watched his videos and I saw him in the spring. He is a very tough runner.

i know some other guys that played football at your school. You know Evan Ogilsby, last I heard he had signed with the cowboys.

Doug Matthews had UT's strength coach on Big Orange Sunday, he said that Poole was the main guy who stood out to him so far. He compared Poole to Jamal Lewis.

So Poole is being compared to Travis Henry and Jamal Lewis. He must be something good.

Probably, especially since they got Pacman. I am real good friends with his little brother. He tells me that football is huge there, alot of D1 talent. I'm glad we got Taureen. Seems like a good kid.

I'm from Stephens County, but I graduated a few years before Tauren came on the scene. I never miss an SCHS football game. Once an Indian, always an Indian.

Evan, or E.O. as he likes to be called, held a 1st Annual Evan Oglesby football camp here in Stephens. He lets all the kids come free and he had several NFL players there to help. He also held a golf tournament to benefit the E.O. Foundation for underpriveledge children. He is a great guy who didn't forget his roots. We've churned out a few athletes over the years. A few went pro, many went D1, more went D2, and so many more athletes just stayed at home!

No doubt that Tauren is a beast in the weight room. He works hard. I've seen him lift and he's intense. I'm glad to see that it's all carrying over to the next level.
