Tauren Poole (merged)

Now I feel that Tauren Poole hasn't had the carries like he should have. And I can only remember him playing in the Western KY game. But he is in on the first posession on a 4th down play and you throw to him. I dont understand what the logic is behind playing him then not playing him. Someone enlighten me.

The logic is that Hardesty and Brown are better.

Seriously, do we have to start one of these threads after every game?

All I was wondering..but two plays the entire game and done? Just dont understand its like they teased him at the beginning

No. He played more than that. again, all in the slot and they must not have thrown him the ball but I made remarks all night about Tauren playing. I was thinking now that it's senior night, they were trying to throw him a bone to keep him here next year, but he played a lot of plays.

i would argue brown does have nfl vision. Everytime i have seen him break it to the next level he seems to run in the right lanes. The only lackings he has is he is not a bush type speed guy and the initial hand off. Earlier in the year he was dancing too much and still getting results. It seems he may have been told just hit the hole cuz now he is just hitting the hole first then looking for his lanes. When he can find that middle ground he is going to be very very special. He reminds me of marcus allen the way he runs. It seems like he is not doing much yet he is getting yards and always falling forward. I would say and some scouts agree he has better vision then any true freshmen in my memory. I am 30 so not too long of a memory but still he is special.
u must not watch football adrian peterson was #1 running back and he was up for heisman his freshman year;brown if he's good should be not going down by one defender. Also remember mark ingram is only a sopomore

Adrian Peterson is the best back to come out of college football maybe since Bo Jackson. Bryce Brown is not that type of back but if he stays healthy will have a long NFL career. If you keep looking for Jamal or Bo or Adrian you will be disappointed. He will never be that back. At the same time he can line up as a WR or RB and has amazing instincts. All those who make critical comments of him during games and on here really make yourselves look unknowledgable and laughable to others. I in fact heard one guy doing this at the Ole Miss game and my entire row laughed at him because it is just ridiculous. Just a word to the wise you are missing part of the picture here.

I don't know about the running Poole off part, but the rest I agree with. Whether Poole is better than whoever is irrelevant, Poole should have gotten PT.

But none of us know how the RBs stack up in practice evaluations, or their attitudes.

I know him personally he is a great kid and super student

He needs to drop the attitude--it's kiffin's way or the highway!

tauren poole does not have a attitude;he thought it wasn't fair that kiffin tried to put him in with 2 min not 5 min left in game when he does everything kiffin asks in practice and it funny how you guys don't care how a player is treated. 6-6 or 7-5 is not that great,i could half way understand if UT was 10-0 or 9-3.

Adrian Peterson had a Heisman trophy QB and three NFL wideouts to take pressure off of him. He also had a ridiculous OL blocking for him. Jamaal Brown, Wes Sims, Vince Carter, and Davin Joseph all made it to the NFL. Two of them were first rounders. That comparison is ridiculous.

I have no problem with bryce brown, I think and hope he will be a very good player;he's a good student too. But right now poole is better and proved it when he was supposed to (scrimmages) but he got shafted, thats why there's a love fest for him because alot of peple can see he got shafted. If brown was better then that's the way it is but don't look at the season, just go to the scrimmage game stats and don't look at the names just the stats and decide who should get playing time.some people are saying he should stay and prove his self in spring and fall but he's already done that once and got screwed so how can he trust kiffin again. That's probably the biggest problem between kiffin and poole is poole doesn't trust him. (can't go to game stats cause poole didn't have many but he is avgn 12yds per when he does).

most people said to go by scrimmage stats when choosing a qb too. So much more goes into picking a player than that

oh now it's ridiculous!!!!they said bryce was the best in awhile wasn't comparing just a reminder and what you got to say bout ingram;guess his o line this year is all world too!!!!and ingram plays in the S E C while you at it since my comparisons are unreal ,compare brown to trent richardson;not in same league at this point!

when you are the number 1 player all the hype comes with it; don't think anyone should be making critical comments on bryce. but even more so they shouldn't be making negative comments on tauren either, really surprised this is the only way he gets their attention; never mind he's a person with feelings huh?

Jabari Davis was one of our best scrimmage players. In real games he was outperformed his entire career by every other running back on the roster.

You love stats. Take a look at Trent's and Bryce's. They are virtually identical. And yes, Bama has some great prospects on the OL. UT is starting two walkons and a tight end.

Poole is a good RB, but he's not better than Hardesty or Brown or he would be playing. If he sticks around, he will have more carries next year. Hopefully he comes back, we will need him next year.

Touches:

Bryce Brown: 108 for 589 yards, 4 TDs
Trent Richardson: 111 for 587 yards, 5 TDs

Not in the same league at all.
