Tauren Poole (merged)

Looks like NewVol was wrong.

Obviously you have a problem with me that you need to solve. I was there today and Tauren met with Kiffin after meetings. He didn't say one word to anybody. And I was told this before that meeting. He is still gone when this season is up. Hater

Come on man. You said something like "as of now Poole is off the team." You were wrong. Nothing wrong with that. But at least have the balls to admit when you were wrong.

Exact words were Tauren Poole is gone! He was not planning to show up. And I believe when the season is up he is gone. If you're going to quote me atleast quote the correct words.

You just quoted yourself and are arguing with your own wording. It's cool. He may very well be gone after the season, but he's not now like you suggested. To each his own.

Someone please notify the coaches that they have an All American sitting at 4th string behind a crappy group of backups. If Poole refuses to play how will we ever beat Ole Miss?

Its amazing how many of these kids have had an attitude of entitlement. I'm glad Kiffin is running them all off. I'm sure Tauren may be a good guy, so was BJ Coleman. But no good team can ever have players who question anything a coaching staff does. Any player that does should go and go now. It doesn't matter how talented they are or think they are.

If your team is winning by 28 pts and you are in a bad mood, your not a part of the team, and you are there for you. It's like when Cedric Benson said he would rather win the Heisman than beat Oklahoma. If he's not happy with getting to wear orange each week, run through the T, and be a part of all this.....then just go.

I do wish him, hope he suceeds at GT or some school like that. But we want all players to have the attitude of the Blue Angel piolets. There constant phrase is "just happy to be here sir....." That's what every player should be saying to Kiffin, no matter their role.

You're right. Good post. It's all about the W.

playing time. I'd be more worried about him if he was perfectly ok sitting on the bench and doing special teams. Truthfully the kids a fighter and thinks he as good as any back on the team. How would you feel if you thought that and still had to sit during the games? I don't blame him if he decides to leave the team, but I hope he guts this season out and stays. With Hardesty gone next year, I think people will be wondering "Hey, why wasn't Poole playing last year".

we need poole. He will be a major contributor next year when Hardesty is gone, as well as the rest of this season. Let's hope he did not quit.

Poole, I hope you read this and realize just how important you are to this team. We could go all the way next year and it would be a shame if you are not there to show your talent. Hang in there and we are behind you. Hope to see you in the Ole Miss game in the end zone.

Refusing to enter a game really cannot be tolerated by coaches. That said, it is rather humorous how many are all over Poole like he is some scumbag or selfish prick. I don't agree with his actions but can see why he would be frustrated.

I seem to remember a current back copping an attitude with the press after not getting into the Bama game and then missing the next practice with a "fever." That guy has worked out ok.

If T. Williams comes back 100 percent, then Poole won't play next year either. I know it was the O & W game but Williams was the best back there. Brown will get majority of carries next year with Oku playing like Brown does this year. Williams will be the next RB in the game if he is 100 percent. Poole is solid and will be a good back for somebody if he decides to leave, but he doesnt have the skill set of Brown or Oku and probably Williams as well.

I really hope he stays and think he should probably be playing over oku. I love the way Poole runs with authority and heart on every run. If you're reading this poole, please stay and prove everyone wrong next year by being the second back in the rotation. WE NEED YOU

He is a Tenn. Fan. Lets keep Him.

Now who on here knows of Merlin Hood from the early 70's? :matrix:

UT class of 1974

I just think it's ironic that this conversation about pt for Poole is going on, I remember when I was in school the same conversation was going on about Merlin Hood.

It was reported tonight that Poole was at practice today and will be available for the Ole Miss game.

Yes but all these folks who hate their lives need something to b**ch about pretending they can judge and are in the know. Never seen so many houses of glass shatterred then in these types of threads.

Headed home with 5 mins left from in laws and Kesling said Tauren Poole ran off to the locker room. Said he didnt want to speculate but not sure why he was leaving the field.

Uh oh?

Said he didn't want to go in and CLK told him to hit the showers. Its a shame he is talented, maybe not enough to play as tailback now that Oku and Brown are in the fold.

Oku, Brown and Williams will be back, but RB is a position where players can get banged up. He has a good chance to play when and if that happens. He is a tough runner and I hope he stays.

Do you not understand that a lot of out of state kids choose to come to schools like UT so that they can hopefully get to the pros? Most of them are not lifelong fans of the Vols.

For them, it is a business decision. I'm sure that Poole feels that he is good enough to make it to the NFL(true or not) and not getting PT can keep him from making LOTS of money.

Would you just "be happy to be there" if you thought that not getting PT was going to cost you a spot in the NFL and millions of dollars in signing bonus money? I wouldn't.

FWIW, I think that everyone is just speculating and that this had nothing to do with Poole being unhappy. It wouldn't exactly make sense to be unhappy about PT and then run off pouting when you are finally about to get a chance to get some carries.

If Poole stays, he will probably be third behind BB and Toney Williams with Oku being the third down specialist or change of pace back. Williams will be the "Thunder" to Brown's "lightning." Poole is just another in the long lineage of all-purpose backs in the mold of Hardesty (which, mind you, is not a bad thing) or Lennon Creer. Let's face it, barring any serious injuries, there just aren't enough carries to satisfy everyone.

Thats the heart of the matter. There are many decent backs they all can't get carries barring injuries to other players. Lennon Creer read between the lines and decided to try another school. I would never criticize a player because he left to find playing time.
