Tauren Poole (merged)

has posted some pretty accurate stuff. Poole met with Kiffin at 2:45 today, it is my understanding that he was going to ask for his release.

with respect to what happened at the game, Poole was approached by Gran with approx 2 min left in the game and was told to get ready to go in. Tauren being frustrated said something to the effect of "no ya'll go ahead you've got it pretty well handled" the Offensive line coach overheard and said "well "F"^%k him then" with regards to Poole. Poole overheard the statement and took offense, Kiffin's response to Poole was that he could either shut up or go to the locker room, at which time Tauren walked off the field.

i have known this man(Poole) since middle school and there is not a finer young man around. i can only hope my son grows up to be as good a person. he has toughed it out even though folks close to him have encouraged him to go ahead a transfer. he has stuck with UT hoping that he would get a chance to shine. his frustration came to a head last night. he will be leaving UT, at least let him leave in peace because he has given his all the last two years. he does not deserve to be bashed on the msg boards.

If he was told to leave the field during a game because of attitude, he isn't the guy for your son to be emulating.

If that story is accurate, I'm now even a bigger fan of James Cregg.

That attitude you just mentioned is one we are trying to overcome as a team and a program. If you are offered playing time, you don't say no. His actions are what is drawing the criticism and you just proved it, if what you say is true.

i have no reason to lie? like i said Tauren has gotten frustrated over the season(Newvol has pretty much covered the reasons for that) so i will not elaborate. his frustratin seemed to get the best of him, and in hindsight he probably wishes he would have handled it better. with regard to the bashing that has already occurred since i posted all i can say is don't judge to harshly. TP is a GREAT person and i stick by my statements before, seems some are quick to judge? walk a mile in someone else's shoes before throwing too many stones.

Tauren in a great person, but you can't do that when a coach tells you to go in. Tauren himself said in a video interview that you have to make the best of all the opportunities that you get when they call your number. No one is hating on the kid, but instead are saying that he can take the attitude that he projected and go elsewhere. People on the team are going to be recruited over with this staff, it's going to happen and never stop. That's how you win NC's.

TP needs to stick it out. Toney Williams is coming off ACL surgery and TP and Toney would be competing next year for the bruising Hardesty type carries. We need that type of physical back. TW or TP will get alot of carries next year. Stick it out young man. I guess he could transfer and sit out next year as his redshirt and have two to play two wherever he goes. This staff is going to play the players they think give them the best chance to win.

and nothing i posted ever suggested that he was in the right by not going in. i simply was trying to convey the reasons behind it(frustration) and that it did get the best of him last night. Tauren will move on and so will UT, i can only hope the best for both and by all accounts UT is headed in the right direction. mistakes happen but don't be too harsh thats all i'm saying.

I hope he goes to Georgia Tech. If he wants playing time he'll most certainly get it in that type of offense.

I wish Tauren luck, he will be a good back somewhere. Probably GT, if I had to guess.

But you said newcoach had it right. He did not. The crap about being 2nd on the depth chart was garbage. Brown was a co-starter from well before the WKU game.

Poole is doing exactly what a lot of backups do: rationalizing in his mind why he's getting screwed.

Its amazing how many of these kids have had an attitude of entitlement. I'm glad Kiffin is running them all off. I'm sure Tauren may be a good guy, so was BJ Coleman. But no good team can ever have players who question anything a coaching staff does. Any player that does should go and go now. It doesn't matter how talented they are or think they are.

If your team is winning by 28 pts and you are in a bad mood, your not a part of the team, and you are there for you. It's like when Cedric Benson said he would rather win the Heisman than beat Oklahoma. If he's not happy with getting to wear orange each week, run through the T, and be a part of all this.....then just go.

I do wish him, hope he suceeds at GT or some school like that. But we want all players to have the attitude of the Blue Angel piolets. There constant phrase is "just happy to be here sir....." That's what every player should be saying to Kiffin, no matter their role.

As was said, I can understand his frustration, but he needs to have the attitude that he is only a couple of plays from seeing action. If someone gets hurt then he's there and needs to be ready. Of course, this is easier said than done.

You have no idea if Im speculating or not. You have no idea who I am. I may be wrong. However, I DO know what Poole was told by Kiffin and Gran after the W. Kentucky game on why he is behind the freshmen.

And.....?????

Buses leave every day for Georgia...He can get on the next one and free up a scholarship..
Id bet Nuke found out Greyhound runs to Pahokee also

My take is that Kiffin has gone overboard with playing his top freshmen recruits--whether they really deserve to play or not. Face, none of them has done much--and freshmen shouldn't be expected to do much. I think Brown has got a ton of PT simply because he's a big-name recruit; fact is, he's been nothing more than OK (and totally screwed up the good first UT drive against florida, by the way). Nuke--a perfect example of my point. Kiffin makes him the punt returner when clearly Rogan should have had that job from Day 1. That move alone tells me Kiffin has gone a little too far to play the big-name freshman.

His top freshman recruits getting too much playing time? Who is behind Hardesty? 2 freshmen of course they will get PT. Lets see Jones and Moore and Hancock were really banged up at the beggining of the year, who is 4th and 5th on the depth chart... 2 freshmen! Lets see didnt Rogan MUFF the punt last night and LOST it? He hasnt done much either. And what about Jackson? If they are good or in the WR case, HEALTHY, why would he not play them?

In addition to what I just said, he could be like Fulmer and play the seniors like Foster and... lose his job.

Your name seems to fit for some reason.
