Tauren Poole (merged)

Come on ... "He wasn't right so I sent him to the locker room"? That Could mean he was not feeling well, as in he was sick.

The fact that he said "we had a conversation" is making people read into it that Poole had an attitude. Who knows, maybe he was sick and that's why he wasn't playing as much?

The point is that until we know, speculation is only going to cause myths to crop up.

Let me make this as simple as possible...Kiffin is trying to run Poole off. If he rewards Nuke's behavior last week with playing time this week...and a guy like Poole shows up every day, doesn't complain when 2 true freshman get to play week in and out...Yer up by 35 at the half and you can't/won't throw Poole a bone? Yea, i'd be mad too, that is all I'm saying.

X2 The times I have seen Poole run the ball I came away very impressed. CLK may have a hidden agenda, but as far as I am concerned, Poole should have been the #2 back. I hope Poole sticks around only if he gets his shoot next year, and is treated fairly. If not, why didn't CLK let him go so he could get PT on a different team. This is about the only thing I have second guessed CLK on this year.

I think it's you wanting to know not me. Kiffin doesn't care what you or I think and he will address it as needed on his terms. You are the one creating the speculation and myths to crop up. I personally am looking to Ole Miss.

If I was Poole, I'd be upset. There is no way you could make me spend two hours with Mark Packer and Mike Griffith.

CLK: Hey Poole ... what's the square root of 144?

Poole: I dunno, coach. Six?

CLK: Wrong! Hit the showers.

I'd definitely be frustrated if I were Poole. He's a talent, but what is he, 4th string? If we don't pickup a top RB in the 2010 class, then he has a shot at being the #2 guy next year, but that looks doubtful.

As a pure RB, I think Poole's better than Oku. I'm basing this off of very few carries though, so I'll trust the coaches. I do hope nothing comes of this.

If he leaves he is a baby. He is an awesome player who will get plenty of playing time next season. And playing time against the commoddoors and the semiwild cats

Creer, Poole - Casualties of regime change! Poole should have probably left with Creer. He is a good back, but Oku will get the backup spot next year. CLK will continue to recruit confident, talented backs ala USC and that is how you keep everyone working hard. Open competition means you never get to rest on your five star rating! Every back that commits to CLK from this point forward will have to have supreme confidence or they wouldn't be a Vol.

I wondered the same exact thing. Why no Poole? I hate to see a guy work hard and not get a shot. Oh well, I know CLK is going to do what's best for the team.

i am glad Bryce is gettin a lot of playin time. b.c it will help next year. i just think they should create more packages for all of them. maybe some screens or somethin. because i think all four of our backs could start somewhere else. maybe georgia would like one of em. :D

LQTM, so the story now is Kiffin was trying to force him into the game yet we assume Oku has looked just about vanilla as a RB is going to beat him out. I wonder how this story will keep changing. It sounds like Poole actually wants a shot at real PT not the mop up. And as far as calling him names or a baby that is just pathetic dude has more character in his pinky then the combined weight of character of all those taking shots at him. So are we going to have a week of meaningless Poole threads? And if he does leave and we do not get a Dyer type back we will suffer next year for it. It is amusing you guys assume Willliams will be ready to go after a knee injury. Oku is certainly not going to replace Hardesty. I think worrying about Ole Miss should be enough of a conscern.

Some of you seem to make too many assumptions. I agree with many of you that are taking the coaches side, but it goes a lot deeper than many of you may think.

Tauren Poole has been a class act until last night. He came to work and gave 100% everyday. He has never had an attitude and he did not have one last night.

However, he was upset and rightfully so.

Tauren Poole outplayed both freshman RB's in fall camp and was the 2nd back until the week of the W. Kentucky game. No one knew how the carries would be split up. After that game, Poole was told why he had fallen to bottom and the reasons were unfair. He was told to stick it out and he has done just that. Giving his all on special teams every week and still working his butt off in practice.

Many of the players feel that Poole is getting a raw deal but that's just the way things work.

Last night just seemed to have been the last straw for Poole. I guess he felt that sending him in with 1:50 left in the game (I know because I looked at the clock when Kiffin came to him) was embarassing. Maybe that was how he felt.

However, I just wanted to let you know that Tauren has been a great kid and he DOES have the talent to compete with the other backs. He should be getting more carries but HE knows why he isnt and it is not fair to him.

I am not sure if Poole will be here past this season, but please don't bash the kid. Just wish him luck with whatever decision he decides to make.

I've talked to some players on the team and they said that he is the 2nd best RB on the team but he isn't playing because he is a Fulmer recruit...go figure

oh come on - a local kid getting favoritism from the fans and saying he was treated unfairly and outplayed the other backs - sure man.
