Tauren Poole (merged)

Poole should be getting oku's carries right now. If we don't sign another top running back this year I say he should stay and prob will be the number 2 guy next year. But if we do sign another rb and if I was him I would be out of here.

Wow, yer sa smart!

It isn't that difficult to think that a coach is playing someone else because he thinks that player is better than another players.

It is much more convoluted to come up with some theory that says one back up is better than another and one guy isn't playing for recruiting purposes. I'm sure those 2-3 carries per game mean so much in the recruiting game that Kiffin is ready to sacrifice an obviously "better" player in Poole just to persuade some high school kids to come here.

So, yes, like I said, ridiculous.

How many carries does Oku typically get in a game? If Poole is set on leaving, I don't think giving him Oku's 2 or 3 carries in mop-up duty is going to change his mind.

Let me make this as simple as possible...Kiffin is trying to run Poole off. If he rewards Nuke's behavior last week with playing time this week...and a guy like Poole shows up every day, doesn't complain when 2 true freshman get to play week in and out...Yer up by 35 at the half and you can't/won't throw Poole a bone? Yea, i'd be mad too, that is all I'm saying.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Kiffin said that he and Poole had a conversation in the 2nd half, Poole wasn't feeling right so he sent him into the locker room. I am sure you were calling for Stephens early in the season as well. Just let the coaches do their jobs and enjoy a big win.

It's hard to get a read on what Kesling thinks about things. It's hard to take him seriously with all the mistakes he makes... I cracked up all the way through the LK Show following the Alabama game because he was butchering McElroy's name. He just kept on pronouncing it 'Mick el roy' even though everyone else I've heard say it pronounces it like 'Mackle roy'.

Basically I think Bob is just kind of 'there' and doesn't really have an emotional connection one way or another... to anything.
I listened to that game on the radio and muted the t.v. And he butchered the name for the whole game. I was screaming at him. LOL.

Hope he don't leave the team. He is a good player and should get some playing time.

i too hope he doesnt leave the team, but if he does it would be just that much bigger for recruiting. a chance to come in and compete for immediate play time with only two running backs period.

I don't know about the running Poole off part, but the rest I agree with. Whether Poole is better than whoever is irrelevant, Poole should have gotten PT.

But none of us know how the RBs stack up in practice evaluations, or their attitudes.

I haven't heard a word of radio/kiffin. I'm glad to know, if true... that Kiffin intended to play him. I never cared which QB played, I assumed Kiffin would play the best one. Same with RB's. It was a blow out, I was wondering why Poole wasn't getting a carry. I'm a big fan of Poole, I freely admit it, i was jazzed when we got him. trying to understand why he get's no shot in a blow out, that is all.

By that logic we should run off as many 3rd-4th string players as possible.

We are talking about 6 carries Oku got. I mean he averaged 3.5 yards a carry in mop up. He has not looked impressive at all at RB. However, Oku's carries have all been meaningless. This all not a big deal unless Poole really does intend on transferring. In which case Williams or a new recruit need step up next year. Cuz I just don't see Oku as replacing what Hardesty brings. We need some thunder and that is going to be Poole, freshmen or Williams next year. Oku will replace Brown in plays designed specifically for him unless we get Lache in which case Oku might as well transfer LQTM.

Brown might make a great back in a couple of years,,but he in no way looks like hes gonna take it to the house every time he touches the ball.

It's a hard balancing act. Oku won't get used like Brown. Big size difference. If Poole is here he and Brown will be the 2 main smash mouth backs. OKU and Nuke' will be used in some of the other options and special teams. Once on the field on ST and it's all up to them to show what they can do.
As for Poole going to the locker room early there are several reasons CLK told him to go ahead and go. Maybe he tweaked something, touch of flu, getting something ready for after the game for the team.
Give it a rest and here both sides of the story. Poole wants to be an NFL back he'll stick around and wait his turn.Backs are more accustomed to this(waiting their turn) than most other positions. The good thing is they can be used pretty quickly.
Everything will work out just fine.

I am really amused by the BB commentary. I think people want to see Jamal Lewis. Well he is not Jamal Lewis. Jamal is like Bo Jackson and these guys are rare. Brown is amazing at what he does. We are watching different games. The blocking is just ok and Brown is making yards where there are non in the SEC as a true freshmen. This is not the Big 12. We are not going to have Adrian Peterson freshmen years here. And Hardesty staying healthy and playing well makes it even harder to get the stats that some seem to need to approve of BB. But next time Brown catches a pass not in the flats but running a route just think about how much that adds to our offense and how that is driving DCs nuts. And next time you are watching look a few yards down the field and see the guys who do not ever get to square up on him because of the angle he took getting him two more yards. Brown is better then Hardesty right now IMO. And Hardesty is playing at a very high level.

you saying Brown is better than Hardesty right now,,might be before his TN days are over,,but thats a insane statement right now

I get excited every time Brown gets the ball, he is smooth as hell and knows how to get 10 yards when most backs would get 5. I love Hardesty, but I can't wait until BB gets 20+ carries a game.

OK hip pointer last how long?Looks fine to me.
Excuse me doctor but you have no idea what you are talking about. A injury like that hurts a guy the whole year and he has been in alot of pain. It's a type injury that will bother a guy until the season is over. What do you think happened when he pulled up in what would have likely been a touchdown pass last year?
