Tauren Poole Interview...

Complete garbage. Those of you that tolerate that kind of **** from a player that was given a 4 year scholarship to our university, given a free education, given a starting spot his final two years are nothing but pathetic.

That free education came with a ton of hard work, him starting is not his choice, that free education was not him either. He didn't offer himself a scholarship.

Then, Poole should have transferred just like Jackson and gone to play for a "coach that he chose to play for."

You'll get no disagreement from me. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

He came here to play football and get a degree. He got both.

I gave UT tuition money for 4 years. That's 4 years more tuition money than Tauren Poole ever gave them. So, you can cut the **** with completely moronic statements like that.

Sounds like you're bitter that you sucked in sports in high school.

He accepted it. Sounds like he would have been better off taking out student loans and just going to school. Some of you need to stop acting like its a horrible forced sacrifice. Everything he did was his choice. Now he's bashing UT.

Poole isn't going to be an NFL back.... So, why would he crap all over UT and knoxville when his best chance at a job is in this area? A lot of UT players make good money working near here. Just shot himself in the foot there.

Too bad you're not a big ole' pussy of an athlete who could earn a free education.

He didn't. He answered a question.

Gerald Jones did, for example.

Poole should have gone to Georgia State. He could have probably been thier second team RB his entire time there.

This is exactly right.

Not sure he crapped on UT. Just questioned if he'd do it again if he knew then what he knows now about the struggles and turmoil. Don't really blame him for that.

But, he could have kept it to himself, put on a good face, and left with class..

Poole just wasn't very good at RB. Maybe a lot of that was some horrible run blocking, I don't know. But he was a kid that didn't embarass the school by getting in any trouble, either. Best of luck to him in the future but I doubt he'll have one in the NFL.

Going forward, for the program, that is more disturbing than Poole being discontent with his time here.

Yep. Even more disturbing that we don't have a RB on the roster that would have forced Pooles ass to the bench, even without the pussy attitude.

And, now he's disparaging the program on local radio three days after his last game.

By saying he may not have come here if he had to do it all over again?

He's not important enough to "disparage" the program. Who the hell cares what a back from a losing team says?

It's not like he pissed on the torchbearer.

What is the "Opportunity cost of playing," specifically?

Opportunity cost is the cost of any activity measured in terms of the value of the best alternative that is not chosen (that is foregone).

If he doesn't go to UT and play football he can work these 4 years and make money, or he can go to college and work. It's not very feasible to be a student, play football, and work.

He foregoes work. Let's assume he can make $8/hour.

School + 20 hour work-week over 4 years = $32,000
40 hours per week over 4 years = $64,000

Economists have found at major universities like UT that the price of tuition is not even close to the revenue generated by most players. The average future NFL player generates $600K per year in revenue for his school.
