I dont blame Poole one bit. Kiffin wanted him to transfer and he never gave him a legitimate shot. Screw Kiffin. If Poole had been whining about something remedial than Id agree it was an immature thing to do. But Oku sucked... and if i had the talent Poole has and had to start behind that scrub....... Ya Id tell Kiffin to go screw himself too.

Sorry, but I think that shows total lack of character and maturity on Poole's part. You take the opportunities that are given to you and do the most you can with them. You also don't refuse a coach's order. If it was any other coach, vol fans would be dumping on Poole like crazy. I'm glad Poole had a decent year last year, and I hope he tears it up this year, but this was a Poole problem, not a Kiffin problem. You put the ball in the hands of your best players and those with the most potential and AT THE TIME that was Hardesty, Brown, Oku, Poole (in that order). G-d, I can't believe I just stood up for Kiffin. Damn you OP!:banghead2:

:ermm:It should have been Hardesty, Poole, Brown, Oku. That was the problem. He out performed Brown and Oku in practice and because of recruiting kids to play early and LK wanting to show that to recruits, he moved a couple of freshmen ahead and Poole paid the price, and I guess he had had enough. This is what several articles have reported. Maybe someone close to the team could comment. Poole is a really nice kid, a very good player and has a lot of heart. I hope he just burns it up this year. My nephew and his family met some of the players at a meet the preseason photo day or some kind of event and they all were very impressed with Poole.

I don't really agree with this. Football is about respect and it has to be earned. its about imposing your will on another. Poole, as a grown man, made a decission to stand up for himself. Most to the time when this kind of thing happens, your probably right but this time the coach didn't deserve the respect as he didn't earn it.

Kiffen had Poole #2 in Peach bowl, did he not? Even by then Kiffen recognized Poole was performing better then the freshmen.

I totally agree with Pool on this. He was clearly the 2nd best behind Hardesty. Brown knew he would be 2nd when Dooley was hired. Pool was a better back all around. I knew Brown was overrated from the 1st game of the season. Brown is was a bust and he will be at K-State. Just look at the end of his 1st carry vs. MTSU. Kid is scared of taking a hit. Screw kiffin.

yeah, but Poole outperformed the freshmen from day one on according to most reports, and it took Kiffen the whole regular season to finally notice? That's just pathetic.

You can't blame a 19 year old kid for knowing he's outperforming those in front of him day in and day out for getting upset that he's not getting his shot.

They are sold by region, I live in NC and could only find the Tennessee (i wanted the Aaron Murray cover because i shot the pic of him that made the cover). We went to SC to look for one and all they had was Lattimore on the front.

Hardesty had said at the beginning of 09 that people should watch out for Poole. He was saying that Poole was really good while everyone was asking him tons of questions about BB and Oku.
