Tatum weight gain helping change his game

You mean the Peterman that beat Clemson and will likely get drafted into the NFL?

Butch confirmed his problems by turning over his entire staff. He didn't hire well when he got the job and this set him back, plus put him on the hotseat. Had he kept Pittman, the Oline is much better off in personnel and coaching and Butch likely has two appearances in Atlanta.

Yes, that same Peterman. The kid who couldn't cut it at Tennessee, in the SEC, and badly needed a change of scenery to restart his collegiate career. Good on him for getting his mind right, maturing and making the most of his second opportunity.

I'm not saying that Jones doesn't deserve some blame for Peterman's failures at Tennessee, player development has been a significant issue for Jones here imo. And some of his coaching hires were surely questionable.

But Peterman was historically awful and had zero composure at Tennessee and most of the blame has to fall on him imo.

So, has Niehaus been able to bulk up, too? Both he and Tatum came in undersized.

Neither Niehaus nor Johnson burned their redshirts.

Yea and while they were bigger than Tatum, he was quicker and had picked up the blocking assignments better hence he came in ahead of them...

I hope he can redshirt this year - all depends on how well the other guys play and how well we avoid injuries...I think it's clear that Smith is gonna play as a true freshman...the jury is out on Richmond - he improved over the course of last season but was far from being a dominant player...we need a line that destroys opponents...

Other times, like Tatum said he has done in the past, he sets an alarm clock for 3 a.m., puts down a couple protein shakes, then gets back in bed.

oh boy 3 am!

Yes. The Nate Peterman that went 8-4 last year with losses to Miami and OkSt.

So let me get this straight . . .

Peterman goes 8-4 and Pitt finishes 4th in the ACC coastal. it's proof Butch sucks because Peterman is so great.

Butch goes 8-4 with wins over 2 biggest division rivals. Finishes 2nd in the SEC east and it's still somehow proof that Butch sucks.

Got it.
