1 beer? What's the point in drinking? Unless you mean 1 at a time? Even so, that would be annoying.

One drink, per adult w/ID, per purchase.

That's how you keep Uncle Kenny from purchasing six 20 oz Bud Lights at once, chugging them all before he can even get back to his seat, and subsequently overflowing one of the troughs, before starting a fight with Aunt Crystal when he finally makes it back to his seat.

I like having a nice cold beer at a stadium , but responsibly. We do not need more drunks in stadium. Moderation, moderation, and responsibility!!!!!
Not selling beer in the stadium, if it has any effect at all, actually leads to less moderation. I've been lucky to have gone a lot of sporting events over the years, and 100% of the in-stadium stupidity/drunken behavior has been in college stadiums that don't sell alcohol inside.

Most ridiculous argument ever...nobody is going to stop drinking before a game or drink less during a game because you can buy it there instead of carrying airplane shots in your socks.

I didn't say they stop drinking inside. I bet it does stop some of the liquor slamming at the tailgate right before you go in the gate though.

Even in my college days when I drank more I never liked getting drunk before/during games. That was for post game celebrating or occasionally drowning sorrows.

Not No....but HELL NO. It will do nothing for the game experience except make the drunk jackass fans more obnoxious!!

You honestly believe that the meer option of purchasing alcohol, will cause thousands of normal fans to suddenly puposefully overconsume alcohol for the sole purpose of hulking-out into "raging jackasses"?

I don’t think anyone is saying they will only drink inside, but like others have said the chugging of drinks may lessen. I know it did for me, if I go to a game that sells alcohol I’ll drink pretty normally, if not I drink extra before going in. It was the same as going to bars before I got 21, I used to get hammered every time before going in. After I turned 21, I drank pretty normal after the newness wore off. This is much the same. I can honestly say I have seen many more instances of crazy drunks inside Neyland, than other events where booze are sold. And keep in mind it won’t be full bars, but draft and aluminum/plastic bottles of probably just domestics, not ordering 10 shots of tequila.

LOL! My freshman year this beer was $2.11 per six pack, tax included!!

At the Pantry down behind Reese Hall, Delicious!! Drinking age was only 18 then I believe.

Ahh the good ole days!!

How about if you appear over served you either get denied or have to hit a breathalizer?

Is that really what you got from that post?

I think you mean more moderation which I believe is accurate. Looks like a lot of old alcoholics on this site as a couple of tall boys are not going to make or break you. Better take the funds to improve some bathrooms.

My first post.... I'm a Christian so I know I'm already a minority, but I wouldn't support this at all. If they want to increase revenue and attendance then win games. Like another has said, it's allready snuck in but is kept at bay. I'll not be taking my kids if they do.

While I enjoy alcohol, I think this is a bad idea at Neyland. Other venues may be OK, but it is dangerous enough navigating the stairs on the upper decks without adding alcohol to the mix. Do any SEC schools permit this? I am not aware.

I meant not selling beer leads to less moderation (i.e., people slamming beers/liquor before leaving the tailgate because they know they won't be able to get any for 4 hours, or sneaking airplane bottles inside and slamming those during the game because you need to do it discreetly).

Selling alcohol during the games would probably lead to more moderation, because people know they can buy beers inside.

Feel free to elaborate, because you sound like some sort of neo-prohibitionist that doesn't believe that humans are capable of drinking alcohol with any sense of moderation.

Case in point:
How about if you appear over served you either get denied or have to hit a breathalizer?

Tennessee already requires employees who server alcohol to be TiPS trained, part of which is to be able to evaluate patrons for intoxication levels and not continue to serve them alcohol. The idea of suggesting a beathalizer is ridiculous.

If indeed approved, no more attending games for me. Have seen folks drink there and become rude. Knock over drinks and soak people further down. But to be fair, soda drinkers do the same thing. Have had near collisions with drivers unable to keep to their lane or obey traffic laws at stop signs and lights when leaving games. Rudeness level increases. And again in this age of conceal-carry, only a matter of time before some alcohol soaked jackass gets pissed at someone who so much as frowns his way, pulls out a gun and shoots. Want to talk about terrorism? There it is. We already see incidents at mainly pro stadiums. We won the Nebraska bowl game a few years ago and yet Vols fans were fighting each other in the stands. I'm staying home if alcohol is sold at Vols games. Won't be worth the trouble or risk to attend in person. Just scroll down this list to see for yourself. No problem, man. My big TV, my easy chair, my wife serving bison and elk burgers, her DIY roasted and spiced potato slices, DIY garlic dip and garden grown raw vegetables, AND Guinness Blonde, I'm good. At home, causing problems for nobody, not driving afterward, no crowd wading, and having my wife's peach-mango pie after all that. Bye indeed. Might even invite that guy in the picture you posted. JFTHOI.
