Thirsty Tennessee fans may not have to wear their tighty whities when they plan to visit Neyland Stadium much longer as the school’s Alcohol Policy Task Force has made a recommendation that could clear the next hurdle to legally sell alcohol for on-campus sporting events.

Vice Chancellor for Student Life Vincent Carilli has issued a report following a lengthy review, which came to the conclusion that alcohol should be sold at all sporting events at the school to people of age that wish to purchase it.

Of the 10 recommendations of the task force, the first three involve the distribution, possession and consumption of alcohol at sporting events on campus.

Worst idea ever...adding alcohol to 100,000 people tightly packed together is going to ruin the experience for everyone. I know people bring it in anyway, but at least they have to hide it and hide their stupidity.
Budweiser-Neyland has a nice ring to it. Somewhat reminiscent of the sound a cash register makes when it opens and closes.

What are "tightie whities"? Is that racial nuance? 😀

Never mind. I always thought it was "tidy" whities. Why would you want tight underwear in the first place?

To those saying it will ruin the experience of non drinkers. Everyone who wants to drink in the game is already drunk when they get in and/or they sneak it in and drink anyways. This won't change much other than making the university a lot more money. I don't drink much anymore, but I'm always plastered when I make it to games.

Not too sure this is a good idea.. Been to too many NFL games and seen how people act there.. I am just not a fan
Exactly...was at a Braves game a few weeks ago and some drunk dude fell all over some kids knocking them down. Also watched a drunk chick leaving Neyland last year nearly plow through a family with small children as she side swiped several cars and ran up on the curb. More alcohol is more problems.

It doesn't matter, people are drinking before games or sneaking it in anyway. They might as well capitalize by selling it.
Sure they do but make it easily accessible and your number of drunk asshats doubles or triples if not more.. Just not an enjoyable experience to sit beside a drunk idiot who wont shut up.. I guess I am just getting old but I think its a bad idea

I didn't understand the reference either. Unless they're insinuating that folks would wear tight skivvies to hide bottles of alcohol. No way that would happen.
