Targeting Guarantano

I saw that as a very obvious attempt to take out JG and get him out of the game.

It was a intentional very hard hit to the back of JG's neck and that Mizzou thug should have been ejected.

Same is true of the late intentional targeting hit that took Calloway out of the game.

Those 2 were so obviously planned targeting hits to take out our starting QB and then our best WR after Calloway started seriously hurting them.

If the SEC really wants to stop this thug crap and hurting good kids then put a fine of $1 Million per intentional targeting on the school and the thug crap will stop.

Mizzou is a crap team that plays dirty as hell.

I have no idea why the SEC and all the tv networks hate Tennessee so much but it's very obvious that they do with what goes on so consistently.

VFL...GBO!!!

Then our boys should’ve stood him up at the LOS and chopped his knee to shreds. Make sure it’s him and then that dirty crap stops. Until they do, we will continue to take shots.

Last comment..Yes they were, and there is no excuse for it. With that said, JG made a statement in the media last week that made me cringe. He said something to the effect, “I’ll never be knocked out of a game by a hit..” It was an invitation or challenge to knock him out. Hopefully, JG is ok.. I hope our players remember how Missouri plays football next year......

No just good ole fashion SEC football
Those times are over. Player safety is very important.. When Missouri deliberately targeted Tennessee players 10 times, that is not right. I am a relatively new fan, but where is the outrage? I do not understand that.

I am a new fan of the SEC, but I do not understand why the fans are not outraged by the deliberate targeting of the Volunteers by Missouri. When your best players are maliciously attacked by Missouri, their careers are endangered and their very health is at risk. I do not know any one of you, but I know your type. You are good people. Where is the righteous indignation? Where is the public shaming of this crap? Where is the montage of cheap shots they took- to be played on social media? Let us remember this holiday season, one of our own, Jarrett Guarantano, who has crosses on his arm band and crosses imprinted under his eyes during games. This young man was injured playing for Tennessee. I pray he recovers and that he has no neck or head injuries.

I think you can find all the outrage in one of the other 4 threads you have made on the subject.

Because about 76% of the "Targeting Calls" are examples of "The Pussification of College Football"

IMHO, Mizzou targeted Guarantano with a cheap shot to the head. The Mizzou player almost tore his helmet off on the first series of the game.

Probably wasn’t targeting but it was certainly unnecessary roughness and should have been called. Officials often don’t see it as clearly as we can on HDTV.

“Targeting: Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area.” Where was the back judge?
What is sad is this what the targeting rule was suppose to prevent and it did not even draw a flag. If this would have happened to Alabama those refs would have been suspended and rightfully so. I would have liked to see how the game would turn out if Missouri would have lost their starting QB on the first play of the game.

many Vol fans outraged, but apparently the refs weren't and no word from the SEC office, so I guess it's all good with them...

GO VOLS...BEAT VANDY!
