Talking Watches with Volnation

And here's my grandfather's Rolex i got a few years ago, he died in 94.View attachment 286643
Had one just like it many years ago. Bought it off the street in New Haven Connecticut in 1973 for $75. That was before they had fakes. I worked in a jewelry store, and we sold new ones for around $275-$300 then, as well as I can remember. They have gone up a bit in price. I sent the one I had back to Rolex twice because it didn't keep very good time. They never did get it right. Wound up selling it about 30 years ago.

I've looked it up online and they're for sale for like $14k+ for ones in better condition.

Found this today in some of my junk while moving. Check the price. This came from the jewelry store where I worked from 1972-1974 in New Haven CT. I never had the watch that came in it. It said Oyster Perpetual on the box.

Guess I could have asked you...

How do you like it?
I love it, although I did have to send it in for service. They took care of it, but I was in limbo for 3 months while everyone was shut down. Even so, my favorite watch. The titanium is lightweight while still feeling substantial. I love the slider in the clasp for instant adjustments during the day.
