Are there any radio shows outside the Knoxville area that cover the Vols and are worth listening to?

It seems like someone posted about a show that had Chris Low on weekly, but I can't recall which show it was.

To add to this question, are there any good Vols podcasts out there? With the exception of Kevin Scott's blogtalk show(which i never have heard so it could be horrible) i havent really seen many out there.. Seems like i read something about a podcast hosted on here but i could be wrong.

if im going by this link of online steaming audio and podcasts in the SEC, we are behind

SEC Football Online Streaming Audio, Internet Video and Podcasts, and Online Radio Broadcasts.

Personally i would love a GOOD weekly Vol podcast i would upload and listen to whenever i want...

104.5 The Zone in Nashville usually has Chris Low on during the 3 or 4 o'clock hour on one of the days during the week (George Plaster Show). He also has writers pop in from the Tennesseean, but I wouldn't exactly call that show "worth listening to".

During the coaching search, I heard him bring up the name of Cutcliffe as a possible candidate and I just have discounted from that point on...:ermm:

Tony Basilio on 1180am in Knoxville has Low on every Thursday around 11/12. He's the best thing going as far as Knoxville sports talk is concerned.

Sort Talk on 102.3 in Chattanooga.

102.3 is terrible. if you want to learn about your favorite 1950's chattanooga high school team or player, then it's the place for you. they're the laziest bunch when it comes to getting guests on (unless it's some guy wanting to talk about boxing or highschool baseball.)

they're not much betting during football season. I would rather listen to paul slimebaum than these guys.

The other papers have pulled out of Knoxville for the most part as part of an info-share deal.

The News Sentinel stuff goes out to all the other papers in the state -- we pull Nashville sports stuff from the Tennessean, Memphis from the Commercial Appeal, etc...

I don't see any other Knoxville radio people at any press conferences, practices or games outside of WNML.

Jimmy Hyams makes it to a lot of stuff and is very good IMO.

The TV guys in town all hustle to the events, moreso than in other places I've been.

:lolabove: Gah, you will never cease to amaze me.

Sports Talk is a call-in commentary show, meant for the listeners to have the opportunity to discuss sports. They don't promote rumors, but they will allow callers to discuss them. They give different points of view and disagree with each other often (much like we do here), and they are an entertaining group of guys.

For a general and wide range of sports topics, including LOCAL topics, they are hard to beat.

I'm in Nashville and have hung out with George Plaster (104.5). While I enjoy the show and really like Plaster, no one at the station is a UT fan so they really only talk about us when they 'have to.' Last week, they were talking about CLK and a fan called in to basically say, "while I like the show, be careful how you talk about our coach. . .you're in big orange country and it's clear you're not big orange fans, which is fine, but be careful or you'll lose listeners." They, of course, jumped down his throat, but I agreed 100% with the caller's logic.

It sure would be nice to get more coverage of the Vols in Nashville. I have to hear more about Vandy than the Vols. Frustrating.

they are terrible compared to other talk shows around.

i'm sure you're very nostalgic of the 1950's and 60 chattanooga high school teams and I'm sure it reminds you of your glory years.

i guess it's kind of interesting listening to old high schools every once and a while, but listening to it every 3 days, it get pretty boring. the show was more interesting when the Music Man was on, but it just blows now.

Yes, Joel. You're exactly right. I like it cause they talk about my 1962 high school team when I was a junior.

101.5 WNWS in Jackson, Tn. has the Sports Zone on Saturdays from 10:00a-12:00p. Earnest Fields, UT linebacker from 88-91, is a co-host most of the time. Really good show. They also have the Cheap Seats everyday from 6:00p-8:00p.

Somebody needs to start a VN podcast, podcasting is simple to do, easy to upload for mass downloading and you could even take calls via Skype..
