All of our starters were ranked pretty high out of highschool. Some of them definitely haven't played up to their potential, but it will be interesting to see what CCM can do with them.

Maymon - 4 star
Woolridge - 4 star
Tatum - 4 star
Mcrae - 4 star
Golden - 4 star
Hall - 4 star

On a side note, am I seeing things or does Mcbee have a serious stache going on in the team picture?

The stache has been heavily discussed. I've seen pedo stache, porn stache, and many others.

Personally, I think it's his attempt at becoming Adam Morrison.

If he keeps it during the season while playing on national television, I will have more respect for him.

Lol, that stache is pretty gross.

Tatum has shown flashes of being really good imo.

We're going to struggle to score points, unless we get a couple guys who have decided to consistently make buckets.

The fact that we have six 4-star recruits has also been thoroughly discussed.

So what are you saying? :)

Haha you see where I'm going with this. :)

It's OK; it will never be as bad here in the bball forum as it is in the football forum. Personally, I'm going to post, "Excuse me, it's freaking BASKETBALL SEASON," in every football thread starting November 11 haha.

Personally, I think a routinely manicured stache can bring out untapped potential in someone.

Not looking too closely, it looks like it may turn into a Mexican bandito 'stache.

Hall and Golden need to step it up big time this year. Golden didn't look comfortable with the ball in his hands last year so I hope that changed

I hear Brandon Lopez (walk-on from Austin-East) looks like he could help, especially on defense. Maybe we'll get lucky and he will be another walk-on that was overlooked in recruiting like JaJuan Smith .

In that list I see:

2 legitimate players (Tatum, Hall)
2 Young Players with Potential (Mcrae, Golden)
2 Overrated High School Players (Woolridge, Maymom)

People kill me they talk about how we will struggle playing D and scoring but coach Martin brings pack line defense into the equation pretty much you always have ball side help so if you get beat off the dribble you have help waiting now yes, it will give up shots but I would rather see somebody shoot a three than a lay up. Also as an offense if they play as a team they will score plenty of buckets. This team will be fine. Go vols.

Yeah I referred to it as a child-molester stache in a previous thread. Just looks wrong. I too would have more respect for him if he keeps it. I already do have a little more, since he allowed the official team photo to be taken with it.... lol

I haven't seen a really good photo, but in one side shot, with the floppy hair, he looked a little like Pistol Pete when he had a stach. Shotgun Skyler.

Maymon will disappoint if he can't hit the free ones. And mark my words, McRae will take over games this season. I really think he has the potential to be something great at UT.

I feel CCM deep down thinks this team is going to surprise some people. He just wants to keep it low key.

They will and it will be because of their Defense. I hope Mcrae breaks out this year. Hopefully he has gotten over all that freshman not getting to play business. I think he can be a game changer.
