Thanks in advance.

What kind of advice? I’ll be there with my 5 year old. Our first basketball game of the season.

How early should I arrive?

Any general tips or helps for navigating TBA? I haven't been to a basketball game in a decade.

Any kid-friendly eating spots pre or post game?

Stuff like that.

There's a Which Wich sandwich shop in the NE corner of the basement (street level) of the TBA, but the line will get long with a 7pm start.

Inside the TBA there are Moe's Southwest Grill counters (burritos) and Dominos Pizzas. The concession lines can get long around the 6:00 supper hour.

It shouldn't be too crowded in the TBA with the holiday week until close to game time.

Empty all pockets and go through metal detectors at the entrances.

Best parking option is to park for free and take a free shuttle from the AG Campus off of Neyland Drive, a block or 2 south of Kingston Pike. It might be Joe Johndon Drive... you should see where the crowd is heading to catch the shuttles. The line to get on the bus afterwards will be long just after the final buzzer. Either leave early or kick back after the game and let the shuttles get over the rush. Barnes does his radio show courtside about 20 minutes after the final buzzer. Ask a shuttle driver or other KAT employee how long they run afterwards... probably for an hour.

The new Student Union/Student Center has places to eat. It's about 3 blocks away up Phil Fulmer Drive just past Neyland Stadium.

7pm weeknight games are traffic challenged. The general Knoxville traffic won't settle down until about 6pm and the game traffic picks up about the same time.

The shuttles might start 2 hours before the 7 PM tip. You could call the Knoxville bus company (KAT) or UT for more info. Easiest plan could be to get to the AG campus by 4:30 to miss the heaviest traffic. Might have to wait until 5:00 for a shuttle bus.

It was a fun night all around!

Are all of those your kids? Great looking bunch, you must be proud.

I always wanted a big family all my life. I only have 2 children, but married into a large family.....and all together there are over 40 of us (just on my wife’s immediate side). Now I also gots 5 grandkids.

Yep, they are. I didn't post another picture that we took as I met up with my 2 best friends from childhood and their kids. We had a group of 17 tonight. 12 kids 5 adults.
