Taking Back Neyland

I haven't posted in months... but figured I'd drop in and say we need to make this game and the next one 2 of the loudest that Neyland has ever seen. So that means even if old farts tell you to sit down, keep standing and cheering. They'll shutup eventually. We need to show Oregon what football in the south is all about and prove to them what a really loud stadium of 100,000+ is truely all about. Who is with me?

When I was in High School and a student at UTK that place would rock. I relocated to Ohio for a job 4 years ago and cannot make games like I used too.

I went to a game in 08 and Neyland was NOTHING like it once was. I will be moving to Raleigh next summer and will get season tickets and you can bet your ass my throat will hate me by seasons end. It is time to show people why Neyland is one of the most hostile stadiums in the country.

If your a current student pass out flyers, do whatever the hell you have to do to ensure that stadium is louder then it has ever been. If your a fan tell whom ever your going with if they do not intend on losing their voice you will find someone else who will. If your an older fan suck it up for three hours and scream, you can rest on Sunday.

Oregon apparently thinks they have a louder stadium, show them they are wrong.

Great post OP. Spread the word, I wish I could be their with you guys.

Show them what a REAL stadium sounds like! They shouldn't be able to hear a thing during this game.

I have a good feeling about the crowd and the atmosphere this week. We get fired up for big OOC games.... especially at night. I'll be there killing my voice... i'll just have to be mute in Nashville on Sunday watching the Titans whip the Raiders. WHAT A WEEKEND! GO VOLS & TITANS!

My first year up here was 2006, and the crowds for Cal, Florida, and LSU of that year have not been replicated since.

07 wasn't quite there
08 was boo bird city
09 wasn't that loud sans the UCLA game

South Carolina and Georgia in '09 seemed pretty loud.

The last truly loud game I was at was 06 Florida... Couldn't hear the person next to you even if you were yelling. I hope we bring it like that Saturday. Stomp, scream, and make as much noise as possible!

They were loud at times, but the 2006 home games were VERY loud throughout the whole game. I remember the Bama game that year was incredibly loud too.

That was a really good year for home games now that I think about it. Give/take 1 or 2 plays in the LSU and Florida games and we probably would have reached top 3 status.

Very intense year.

From one old fart to another fart, the only way you'll keep me in my seat is if you nail me to it.
Don't forget, you probably came from an old fart.

It's time to step it up. People follow leaders and feed off of your energy. (except for the old farts, but who cares about them) Let's be loud and proud from Vol Walk to the last seconds. Go Vols!

I was just thinking....... Maybe its not as noisy because I'm going deaf from going to so many games at Neyland.

Who do I sue??

The people that sold you your hearing aid.

Get the stadium loud enough that the Ducks can't hear a damn thing and the Gators hear it in Gainsville and start getting scared for the week to come!

I won't be able to make it to this game ,but nothing makes me happier than to hear Rocky Top being sung loud and clear on TV. I really do hope that this game Saturday night will be as rowdy as it was during the 06 season.

Sure worked well for ucla... its not like they havent played in big stadiums before. they play in the rose bowl and usc which are 90k plus. so it shouldnt be that shocking to them lol

last time I was at neyland was in the early 80's, it was impossible to explain anything to my date about the game. Living in fla, the past 27 have only been to bowl games, proud of Tenn attendance, a little dissapointed in volume, seems to be me and one drunk vol fan trying to keep it going, everyone celebrates the big things. UT used to have a continous fire. Get it back, please.
