Take Kiffin back? There is a precedent at UT...

Who has thrown out Les Miles' name? Link?

And like someone else asked, is Petrino washed up?

BTW, I would take Kiffin or Randy Sanders back.

I very much disliked the way AD Hamilton handled the CPF matter. My feelings were that we could have promoted Chavis to HC position and kept Sanders as OC. I admit that I was excited about the Kiffin hire especially having Monte as our DC.

I favor hiring alumni and we have 3 good ones out there at present in T.Martin, R.Sanders, and JB.Cooter. It's just a matter of time according to many in the NFL before JB takes an NFL HCing position. Sanders has 2 NCAA championship rings and I'm not sure about Martin. He may have added a 2nd under P.Carroll at USC. One main reason I'd like to have these 3 alumni is we could retain 3/4 of the current staff and avoid all the buyouts of the entire coaching staff. I am somewhat concerned that any of these 3 would even want to coach here. And neither of them have any head coaching experience and all 3 are offensive coaches where we need the most improvement. Just a thought but P.Manning would vouch for Cooter because they have worked together in the NFL in Indy and Denver. I'm not suggesting hiring all 3 but at least 1 and possibly 2 for our offense.

I was a student at UT when Doug Dickey spurned us for Florida. The fan base was just as butt hurt (especially losing the bowl game to the Gators) as when Kiffin left. Yet we eventually took him back as AD, which was a great hire.

Am I campaigning for CLK to return? No, but he would be a hell of a better coach the some of the names of some of the old washed up has-beens like Petrino, Miles and others getting tossed around here.

Are you smoking crack?

Bama is much better on offense without him.

I'd rather have Troy Calhoun from Air Force at least UT would get back to power football again.

It's amazing what has been suggested on this site the past couple weeks. Smdh

Randy? He'd already run off by then.

A good cheap hire that u could give a insanely crazy leave buyout to and could potentially be worth way more then u have to pay him

And just think of all the recruiting violations we could brag about after a couple of years.

If you think CBJ has made UT a laughingstock a move like this would let the rest of the football world know the people running this program aee pathetically inept.

Also his current record of 2-3 proves what a fantastic hire he would be.

Our qbs would be a lot better. I would take him if we couldn't get a better coach. Yall know how cheap we are.

No chance that either are ABOVE AVERAGE HC's...

Zero.

What do you consider average? They both have winning records. Butch had success at Western Michigan and Cincy. And he's had limited success here.

I would consider a .500 coach average
