Speaking of dumb KY fans...I hope the one I spoke to earlier today (who tends to be in the 'know' more often than not) was wrong when he stated his sources say a deal is all but done with...Mr. Donovan. He said 31/2 mil for 7 yrs. I know I will probably get flamed for even mentioning this since, to my knowledge, nothing of the sorts has been officially reported, but anyway...

The reasons given: he likes a challenge, most of FL team will be gone, he likes the passionate fan base (according to this gentleman, UF only sold 500 tickets to their first NCAA b-ball game??), and of course, he was there already under Pitino.

Anyway...hope he was wrong, as I'm sure LG hopes too! :)

one of my best friends is a die hard kentucky fan and he was telling me that same thing last night. He's a member on Cats Paws, or however they spell that message board. One of the writers for the site had the info. Says all that is left is donovan's signature and that it's going to completely change the way coaches are signed in college basketball much the same way nick saban's alabama contract did. i'll just wait until "the ink is dry on the contract".

Yup...and they believe the ink will finally dry once UF loses or wins it all.

Personally, I hope they get some lame duck, because I have to hear enough crap from UK fans, especially being a Vol. It is nice to get to "chirp" a lot during f-ball season, but this b-ball season was pretty sweet too! :dance2:

Andy Katz said on Espn tonight that the rumor about the almost done deal with Donovan was false. He said he spoke to several people close to donovan and they all denied it and people close to the Uk program denied it as well. He said if Donovan left it would probably be for the Heat not the cats.

My Mom has a friend that lives in Kentucky. She said that all they are talking about is BD coming to UK. She is a huge UT fan and is really tired of hearing it.
