is it just the fraternity houses that require the pass, or does that whole street require a special pass. i'm assuming you do, i was wanting to be sure.
Just an FYI some of the fraternities have been talking about doing their own blockade and not allowing random people to park in our lots. What people have to realize is that those spots are the parking spots for where people live. Think I i just parked in your driveway every weekend to go to my buddies down the street. I would not try and park in the Lots. The street is not our street it is a city street and anyone can park there. But If your car is anywhere near yellow the cops will drill you for it.
This year is alot more intense then past with tickets. UT has hired almost 20 ticket cops. The lady that works at parking services said they averaged 30 tickets a day, now with the new hirings its over 300 tickets a day and game day will be insane with tickets.
But to all that will read this please dont park in F lots. They are the residents spots.
They do and they dont. IT depends on the cops. I have heard of it but again row is on campus so I never park anywhere but a F lot except when I go to the library late night. But be careful because these are not cops. The wear green polo's and have their own trucks and they drill major areas. Like the library. They have a someone there that when you pull in to a 30 minute parking spot on the road they will run over to your car and type your info in and start the clock. Before your even out of your car. I have walked out with 30 seconds left and the guy was already writing me a ticket and I said I am back before 30 so kiss my A. and he was like well I could still give you one because your car has been parked for more then 30 minutes. I said try it and it will be the last ticket you give.
You can park there if you bring 10 or more very attractive 18+ y/o co-eds. A lowcut sun dress is a must. The Fratboys tend to allow them access to places most common folks can't go....Good luck!
Bwilli...what do you think someone like myself who is an alumni of a fraternity on row should do...last year some of us parked our cars in a line outside of the LXA house Friday night so we could tailgate near the house. Do you think we will most likely get tickets now?
No because that road that runs in front of the houses is public parking. Its the actual parking lots that are ticketed. We usually block off the road in front of our house for the big alumni but the issue is when random people park and when you tell them nicely to leave the parking lot they say F you frat boy and then when they get ticketed they try and start crap with us as if we ticketed them. But this year I hope the guys on row will set stuff up a little better.
Totally agree...anybody that really wants to tailgate...Join Big Orange Tailgaiting...Won Tailgater of the Year 3 out of last 5 years...Parking Lot 10...Left of Vol Walk...Big White Van w/Disco Balls, Beer Pong, Cornhole, and former players...also sell T-shirts that say Big Orange Tailgating "Some People Picnic, We Tailgate!!"
you can park on that street that drives in front of the fraternity houses with no problem, i've done it several times. i would be hestitant about parking in a "spot", because those are technically reserved for those with the "F" tag.
