on campus? probably the parking lot next to Humanities. I'm weary about the strip, KPD is cracking down on open containers on/off the strip this year...

I've heard also that the KPD will crack down and allow no open containers anywhere off campus in any parking lot, etc. So I guess it will be dry tailgating this year.

There are usually some pretty cool tailgates up around the Ft. Sanders parking lots. . .bunch of young people that can't afford to park too close :)

I find it completely impossible for them to crack down and issue people open container citations. I tailgate behind the old ocharleys. During the florida tailgate there was easily 1k in that parking lot alone. KPD does not have the resources to control the ammount of tailgaters in that parking lot, let alone the strip on a busy game day.

IIRC, it was the business owners that complained about it. What will they do when their complaining runs off all of their business?

I go to about 2 games a year and this is where I park. I don't see how they are going to enforce the open container policy either with the amount of people.

NO. Yes, I did drink underage at UT, but it was at a party or in my apartment... Not out in public.

And based on your above post, I'd say you're probably 15... You WILL get busted, or atleast called out by someone.

Fort Sanders is the only place to be on game day.

I've been tailgating there my entire 31 years. With my dad as a kid and now as an adult, and with my friends when I was in school at UT.

I know there aren't really assigned places, but I don't want to be the Jacka$$ that takes someones usual spot either. I'm just looking for a spot to set up a small canapoy and the corn hole boards and hang out with a few fellow big orange fans.

Speaking of cornhole, anyone else play?? I've got some pretty cool boards. One is a replica of Neyland and the other is a replica of Thompson-Boling. I'll take some pics and post soon.

We had a long thread here and at gvx about the KPD cracking down this year. The Gestapo(KPD) said they would go onto private property to bust. Take your chances and enjoy.

How in Gods name are they going to stop 25-30k people before a noon kickoff?

Go get stone-cold whacked; be sure to vomit all over the toilets in Neyland. Let us all know how much you enjoyed the game.

KPD is having a huge budget crunch--they are planning to issue tons of citations on gameday to bring in millions in revenue for the season, since they can't get the city to increase their budget. They'll bring in extra police, etc. to roam all the parking lots and issue citations---which they can do quickly with computer printout machines they have. You may want to stick to the bars and not open a beer anywhere on campus, since they may have undercover cops looking everywhere also.
