Tackling

I blame high schools for a big majority of tackling woes.

You can teach a kid how to tackle right but if he wasn’t tackling right before he got to college, then he probably wasn’t tackling right for a lot of years and that’s hard to fix when the adrenaline gets going. You revert back to what you know.

Why would we recruit kids who lack fundamentals? Does Alabama, Kentucky, Florida and the others prefer athletes lacking fundamentals?

Usually you don’t have to start True Freshman so they have some time to work on those things. However, we are not fortunate enough to have that luxury.

You blame high schools but not the coaches that are making millions to correct this? Sounds legit.

Well when it’s your younger guys and your guys recruited by other coaches that are having the biggest issues you can only fix so much before they revert back to what they know when the adrenaline is going.

How many weeks has it been since this season's been underway? You shouldn't have to coax or encourage players to tackle. If these same guys cannot play, simply allow others to at least have a chance to tackle someone. I know there are guys over there waiting that have proven they can play, just don't get the opportunity. Seems this staff is going to live or die with the same players.

The freshman were recruited by Pruitt.

We could win some games if our guys could tackle. This is basic. Poor tackling is our single biggest problem.
