Of the schools you mentioned , I think the all the schools would be above UConn except Temple some years. As for New York, before 1950, Army and Fordham were two of the best programs in the country. Army was National Champions three or four times. As for the State University of New York ( SUNY) they have a very different set-up than other states. There is no one single Main campus. They have over 60 campuses throughout the state that were all Division 3 until recently. Four of the larger sites—-Buffalo, Binghamton, Albany, and Stony Brook decided to go Division 1 recently. The only one that seems somewhat serious about major college football is Buffalo which has a 30,000 seat stadium and competes in the MAC for all sports. My point is that they are not any worse than schools like Boston College, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Temple, etc. Basically the other big programs in the area.
New England/Northeast is crazy that College sports isn't a bigger deal. New York state itself is an oddity. There are less FBS programs in New York State than there is in Tennessee even though the state has 4x the population. I am just shocked there isn't some massive University of New York that could compete with the Ohio States of the world in size and power coming out of one of the most populous and historically important states in our nation.

Trivia-What are the only two states where the flagship university doesn’t have a football team. No looking it up lol.Yeah, it is just an oddity because every other major state has a big-time football school (some may not be good). I know at one time Ivy League was stout too but that was before there was any real fanbase, CFB on TV, etc. It was more of an Amateur sport back then.
Congrats on pulling it out. I watched the whole game until our game started - wasn't aware of the OT.Was thinking of you guys during the game. We played so awful. Our D game and somehow won. We have so much work to do. We have Colgate next week and then ACC play and Notre Dame in November. We have to improve significantly to win more games than just Colgate. We looked better offensively against you guys and Tennessee obviously has a much better defense.
