Syracuse looked like a pretty good team to me.

It looked to me like when the Cuse was moving the ball and scored their last 2 TDs we were using a lot of subs on D. May be wrong. Haven't kept up with coming and goings since last season, but checking the roster as the game was being played, it seemed that we were getting a lot of subs some game experience. Hope it wasn't only due to injuries which I know it was in some cases.

The fake AF injury was ridiculous. They also had a plan to fake injuries. Take a look at the video where he goes down and notice the inside receiver start to go down as well! Comical and sad. Must be stopped. AIAP.

Ya, tough to remove from game, we did the same but we executed better and it was less noticeable. But it's a given we're gonna have a lineman down after a quick score on the extra point, to help our Def get another breath or two. Our offense can put a lot of stress on defenses when its clicking...including our own.

They aren’t Georgia or Florida but they are a solid squad. As a fanbase everytime we beat someone we tend to say “well they were just average”. Their offensive line was better than what we thought and if he’s given time Angeli will carve up a defense.

I think we got a good win against a solid opening day opponent. Great start to the season aside from the injuries.

Definitely dangerous if they can stay healthy. I just never felt like they were out of it and were always just to play or two away from having us in real trouble.

Not to beat a dead horse, and I don't wish ill on the guy at all, but we lose that game with Nico…
They will win some games in acc

The OP just doesn't understand the drill - every team that Tennessee beats is not a good team.

When we beat Georgia in a couple of weeks, you will see some on here that will say - Georgia is not a good team - they have only beaten cupcakes. So we beat a team that has only beaten cupcakes, so we are not a good team. There are some on here that would argue Tennessee has not played a good team even if we won the Natty. That is just what they do.

I totally get being cautious and pointing out what we can do better - but this constant - "we beat them so they must not be a good team" dialogue is getting old.

I totally agree with we would have lost with Nico. Our offense just ran much smoother.

They looked pretty good but they were never really into it .. we went into half with 31-7 lead .. the closest they got from there was 2 scores .. so we never were even in one score affair…
Their QB looked very poised and made a lot of good decisions along with some bad ones ..
we still struggle over the middle of the field .. been an issue since Dooley, Butch and esp Pruitt days .. we gave up two bad 3 and longs that ended up in scores. Could have easily stopped them and made it a blowout.
It was 31-14 at half, and they had the ball down only 38-26 in the 4th quarter. The game wasn’t truly over until we scored our last TD.

Their Running back Willis is legit he will take them far in the ACC just hard to bring down with the 1st hit and they have a decent passing game. They will have a good year without looking at their OOC and the teams they drew in the ACC on their schedule.

Willis and Cook are both studs. If they can get their defense a little better they have the chance to out score some of those teams on their schedule.

I think they will have a pretty good year. Their QB is very calm under pressure.

At no point yesterday did Syracuse look like a competent football team. None whatsoever. NC State vibes all over again.. our first test will be UGA in two weeks @ Neyland.

We need an actual SEC safety in the middle of the field. 6'2" 205 plus. Not Turpentine.

What will win them games is they had no quit, even when down big. They will come from behind to surprise some teams.
