He sucked as a HC and he didn't do much better with the RAMS...Worse team in the NFL...Not sure I want to load up the UT staff with too many of those guys....

I'd like to see us bring Sly back in the SEC, and to get a former HC as a position coach would be a good thing in my mind...

Sly coach the one of best player in the NFL ,Steven Jackson, on the worst team. i would gladly take him if we can get him cheap. But how long would he wanna stay before movin to a OC or HC.

I'm not sure he would leave the RB Coach position for the St Louis Rams to become the RB coach at Tennessee, unless he felt that there was going to be a mass turnover in coaches in St Louis, and we could offer him comparable money. I still think he would have better opportunities. That's kind of a blow to the ego, once a head coach, now an RBs coach? But Who knows? I'm just guessing

Steven Jackson is just a very good, young running back. I don't think his success has much to do with his coach.

I would watch to see if Terry Joseph doesn't get the RB job. The articles about Steele said Dan Brooks had a chance to come with him. So that either tells me Garza is a short timer or Joseph is going to get the RB's.....

We shall see....

Just because Croom didn't do very good at Miss st. doesn't mean he isn't a great assistant! Croom would be a huge get for this staff IMO.

Sly will not come to Tennessee(bleeds crimson) When will you people learn that there are alot of good coach's who can get the job done. Look @ the staff from last year suppose to be a bunch of good ones but what was our record. You must first recruit good players and then coach them up. You cant make chicken salad out of chicken chit. the coach's in the nfl are necessarily better than college coach's but the are working with players that are better. ooooohhhhhh he wuz in the NFL SO WHAT.

Dooley sucked as a HC and we hired him...Might as well hire Sly..He did have some success as a HC in the Southeastern conference...

Considering he was the coach at LOUISIANA TECH...his record isn't that bad...That place is tough to win at for anybody...He took them to their first bowl in 30 years. :clapping:

Sly has the respect of alot of people around the SEC. It is a hard place to win in Miss. ST. now adays! I guarantee if we hired him the recruits would love it!
