Is this an indication of parity in college basketball, an indictment of the level of bias associated with the Big East, or something else? If it is the latter, we would all love to hear your opinion on just what exactly it is! :)

Combination of luck and yes, just a bit too much ESPN hype for the big east. Not that they aren't a strong conference, but yes, there is more parity in this tourny than ever let on.

I think there are a lot of talented coaches out there at mid-major schools working hard to show they can coach. Also, you have players who are motivated as they were snubbed by the "so called" major schools. There is obviously more balanced teams out there this year than ever before. It makes for an exciting tournament and you better bring your "A" game if you want to win!

I think they have been losing mostly because mid majors are better now than they ever have been. However, who didn't deserve to be there. Its not like there was a bunch of teams knocking on the tournament bubble door this year.

The Big East is always over hyped because of the NY media center. Ohio State is also loved and I hope it works in our favor. The ACC, SEC, Big 10 and Big 12 all have 2 teams in the sweet 16. Pretty even.

The mid-majors teams are much more talented. Look at Samran (I might have misspelled that). He can play for anyone in the country.

The talent gap between the mid-majors and the power conferences has narrowed considerably. When you consider that the mid-majors start with the disadvantage of being underseeded relative to the power conference teams, their performance this year is absolutely remarkable.

I'd still say the Big East is a better conference....the SEC hasn't really been all that great the last few years.

Big 10 had three teams out of five make it. Overall, the Sweet 16 is quite balanced. Yes, the Big East is overrated and I bought the lie, destroying my bracket. That makes me a loser too.
