That's a year old. And his direct problem was that they got a change so that freshmen could live in vol hall to help with recruiting. The rest were "concerns."

It's sad that in our someone must be to blame because my feelings are hurt society that guilt is presumed. Our judicial process is thoroughly tainted by the idiotic court of public opinion. It's disgusting. Everything offends everybody and somebody's gotta get sued for it. Our founding fathers would be weeping at the nation of idiot suit chasers we've become.

AJs lawyers know what bowles said at the GJ, don't you think it'll come out at some point with a contradiction out there? All you have to do is call him to the witness stand and hes toast.

I cannot wait for that trial to get started. I know the lawyers here are hoping for a settlement before facts start getting in the way.

It's pretty obvious there is a concerted effort on social media including many of our VN threads to attempt to spin and influence events and perceptions concerning the UTAD. I suspect some are paid and some happy specialists freely at work. I ask all the Vol supporters to respond to facts no matter where those facts go or take the stories. I also ask all true Vol fans to challenge the guilty due to any accusation made, also known as throwing xxxx against the wall to see what sticks mentality, being promoted as well. Challenge these people with the facts or facts yet to determined. Fight these trolls every step of the way, fight 'em with facts, not accusations.

We've always had lots of useless Trolls here on VN.

I agree that all of them should be called out, exposed and then ignored.

Once everyone ignores them and they get no attention they will go elsewhere for their attention needs to be filled.

Team 120, rocking allong to become Champions...VFL...GBO!!!

Just don't respond. If any of this goes to court (highly doubt it) then we may "all" know the facts. Until then there is nothing we can do but support UT and leave the trolls to themselves...:salute:

GO VOLS!

Google Michigan football scandal and then Ohio state football scandal. It's page after page. Even the FBI is looking at a Michigan rape allegation. No sanctions for either school. Penn State raping, by a coach, went on for 2 decades. They lost practically nothing.

Butch has been here only 3 seasons. He's immediately suspended any player accused of anything.

The fact the lawsuit goes back to events in 1994 tells you the lawyers are grasping at straws for a settlement. Also, the suit was filed just AFTER nsd. The attorneys calculated that if they filed before and we lost recruits, UT would go scorched earth and there'd be no settlement.

Every football program has bad (and dumb) apples, and we've had our share. The victims deserve justice. UT is big enough to take some punching for a while.

But come September. Butch will put a great team on the field, with an aerospace engineer QB, and the highest team gpa we've had in a decade. Winning cures everything in the court of public opinion, and we're fixing to do plenty of it and for a long time to come.

Username checks out. Excellent perspective.

This place is now literally over the edge of the cliff.

I have skimmed this ongoing issue. Nothing reported makes me think anything different from my original thoughts... someone is trying to get paid and make a name for themselves.

It appears that from the AD standpoint, each issue has been handled equitably. The AD has NO POWER to stop someone from going to the police.

It appears that anything short of a public lynching using the goal posts as gallows would have satisfied some people. That isn't the job of the Athletic Department or football program. Their job is to remove bad elements when it is justified... which they appear to have done.

Am I missing something here?

Is there anything else that rises to the level of the AJ/Williams rape case... for which those two guys are going to be tried?

Has anyone done a demographic comparison to see whether the athletic dept generally and football program specifically have a higher incidence of sex crime complaints? Abuse complaints?

PS- when the trial starts, the accused have a RIGHT to face their accusers... the names will become public. Those lives will then be open to scrutiny and criticism. Will any of this get that far?

Clay Travis said that his sources say that Tennessee had an opportunity to settle the lawsuit but declined because they feel they have done nothing wrong and have the evidence to prove it.

He doesn't say that the University thinks that they have the evidence to prove it, he said that they only declined to settle the case.

Mentioned in the civil suit.

Think it'll be around next fall?

I won't miss it.

edit:
Pretty lame argument.. Looks like they are throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks. Seems 102,455 would run out and rape after a game.
