Says DeBord has been ok here but he was terrible on Saturday by limiting Kamara and not trying anything down field to Jennings or Malone.
Says Elder did much better job with our tight ends and special teams.

I look for Debord to "retire" at the end of this season and ZA to get promoted, bring in a new WR coach and likely shuffle a few guys around. Shoop likely stays, he hasn't preformed as well as everyone thought and isn't a sure thing HC candidate as anticipated.

But Coach DeBord can clean the pools

ZA would be a terrible OC, I like his recruiting, but his coaching has been pretty terrible

The game I saw, Dobbs did not have time. And if he did, he was so trigger happy, he went to the first progression. So let's blame it on the OC.

I can say that the TE have been underwhelming, but they have had a lot of dropped passes. A lot....the blocking appears to be weak as well.

DeBord redeemed himself temporarily as a playcaller with the second half Florida performance through the A&M game.

I thought his playcalling in the Alabama game was really bad. We wouldn't have won even if it was stellar, but how many inside runs can you do with Hurd before you figure out it doesn't work? I know their pass rush is good, but why call only a couple of plays where we tested their CBs down the field in man coverage? Why call only a single play where you moved the pocket with Dobbs? Why did Kamara have 12 touches out of 60+ plays after a career game? Why only call a single play where Hurd was a lead blocker for Kamara on a run?

Aren't all of these fair questions?

Our offense will not change in any capacity unless Jones goes. It's his offense and it's hit or miss, hot or cold and frankly I'm sick of it. I miss pro-style, having a physical o-line with a fullback and an offense where on 3rd and 2 the defense knows we're going to run between the tackles but 9 times out of 10 they simply can't stop it.

TE's took a step back, special teams is not as good as last year, but I really do not blame Debord for what happened yesterday. There's no OC in the country that could do anything with that mash Oline yesterday. Bama lived in the backfield

Yes and I'm still puzzled why we can't get the best athlete and open field runner more than 1-2 touches per game on kick returns.

Doesn't make sense--but then playing WR is a lot different from returning kicks. Look a C. Patterson.

I don't think the issue with the offense is the scheme as much as we want to hate it and complain about it. It has proven to be successful - 2nd half of UF, A&M, 2nd most rushing yards in a season or something like that last year. I think the issue is the guys coaching the players and the fact that Debord can be overly conservative. I really think everyone on the offensive side of the ball needs to go except for Gillespie.

Not sure what fans expected this staff to do vs Bama. Bama is far more talented and deeper. Much healthier, too. Scheme will only carry you so far against a clearly superior team. Does anyone really believe this roster could have pulled in with 2 TEs and a FB and run it down Bama's throat?.....with this OL?

"Not trying anything down field." How far down field can a receiver get in 1.5 seconds even without a defensive player in the way or a QB already starting to run for his life (or already doing it)??? Going down field takes just a little time and a QB that's able to set up and then throw.

Speaking of Shoop, I have nothing against the guy but why did so many people think he was going to be a game changer?

Maybe he should hold his tongue next time.

I get bama is great and we weren't going to beat them with this mash unit.

Doesn't change we seem to have more 3 and outs than just about anyone in the country. Our D spends too much time on the field. Yes, we played a 2nd half against FL, GA and put up huge yards on TAM, but this offense hasn't been consistent any game this year.

App state O looked horrible. VA Tech made us look better than we played with the TO's. We didn't look good against Ohio. This offense is offensive.

We happen to have some great talent in Dobbs, Kamara, Jennings, Hurd, etc. which take over games from time to time.

Disagree with him. Never impressed with Bajakian and I liked Elder, but our ST's are a collective coaching effort and Scott is a better teacher at the TE position IMO.

Have you watched any games? Have you not seen the mid game and second half adjustments? Have you not seen how aggressive he has been with his play calling? I know that this is an echo chamber, but people just repeating what other people write is dumb. The defense has been very good pre injuries. If we were 100% healthy, we probably beat A&M.

I was critical of Shoop early in the season. His defenses are historically ranked in the top 20 even with Vandy ans Penn St talent. We were nowhere near that in our first games. Many said it was due to the uniqueness of Appy St and VT. But, our D literally shut down UF for an entire half. I am thinking Shoop is limited by our key injuries.

That has to be part of it.
Historically, the guys around your "fill in" compensate and cover for his lack of experience or talent.
When half the guys on the field are fill-ins, little hard to do that.
