Sir, I take you at your word that you are a VFL. The reason I get pumped based upon good news from Zasnow is the same reason that I expect other readers do as well = credibility. If you are right about the DC hire, and I definitely hope you are, you are the guy that broke the news. With that, comes credibility. The sole reason that I listen to posters like Zasnow rather than yourself is based upon track record and track record alone. With the state of our football program as it currently stands, I cannot think of any better news than an upgrade, especialy if UT gets an upgrade in time to save recruits before NSD. Please do not "take your ball and go home" if you have the inside track on news for the UT football team. If you made the right call on RS you will have mad credibility. Like I said, I hope you are right, and if so, thanks in advace for bringing the news to Volnation.

i have nothing to say other than...i completely respect what you have just said...mad respect. major props! i will let this announcement go through and after it i will always keep you guys up to date.

ya, thats what i wanted to clear up. but randy shannon obvioiusly is a big name dc, who brings in huge talent on defense. wilcox no doubt it good, but with things going on with dooley and things he is having to put up with (fans/hot seat stuff)..he had to make big hires.......if you recalll after the kentucky game, it was said that there would be major hires and adjustments. if your able to upgrade at anytime, you definitely upgrade. randy shannon is huge. especially the assistant he will bring, along with his recruiting. we will be pulling in big talen like back in the 90's now. this single handedly could go down as the biggest hire, and change the outcome of UT football. this is the reason we have kept dools though because of his patience and intelligence....so slowly but surely things will be coming around

ya, just ignore wiki tho...people just edit that to stir up stuff. he is locked in as our dc since this afternoon though. i know for a fact. but if you want more confirmation, i am sure some point tonight on espn there will be breaking news or it will be announced soon. maybe not tomorrow but soon.,

Shannon to UT would be a pretty good hire but not a great hire. Not to spoil some of the excitement but Shannon wasnt the be all end all of Miami defenses. He'd be great for recruiting but anyone that's watched more then one Miami game a year can see the drop Miami defenses had from the time when Davis/Schiano were there and Coker/Shannon were there.
