Swain on Qbs

99% of debuts in the SEC @ QB that I recall resulted in at least an interception or turnover. QD passed the critical test of possession.

Swain knows what he is talking about. He said he has seen it first hand.

No he doesn't. His remarks were extremely biased.

Face it. Dormady is the better QB. That's why he played the WHOLE game. Butch and Co. know better than Swain. They know better than you too. Well, many on this board know better than you

And swain played ball on the hill and been in locker rooms, meetings, games. He seen several QBs on the hill. I trust a veteran more than inexperienced common fan who hadn't walked his shoes

I'm anxious to see JG myself but WE DID WIN. Do anything differently and we might not have. There was a lot of dropped passed in the first half. That was on the wr and te. I think 5 should have been caught. QD did well enough. He is 1 and 0 that's it.

People like Kirk Herbstreit, that have forgotten more about QB play than Swain will ever know, liked the job that QD did Saturday night...he saw it first-hand..

agreed. that said, there was a point in the 2nd quarter, you could certainly argue that changing the qb could provide a spark. what we were doing wasn't really working...sometimes making that change can help. it probably took a little courage to stick with QD...

Making the change could've just as easily sunk the ship.

The conclusion was that people saying Dormady played well and "lead" us to the come back don't know what they are talking about.

The double standard being applied is ridiculous. Dormady is being blamed for all the offensive woes in the first half but get's no credit for the fact they came back and won the game.

Swain and some of you need to rewatch the game a little closer. Then again, it wouldn't support your agenda.

Swain is good at what he does.

Weird how people support swains message, yet dismiss Les miles with the notion that he is no longer employed as a coach.

Swaim isnt employed at an actual radio station is he?

I agree with him by the way.

The first half...Dormady was nervous and bad. The second half...he was calm and ok. I give him credit for settling down and playing better, but that's it.

I think the o-line played great in the second half, Kelly ran hard, and Callaway made plays. That is what drove the offense. I think Guarantano will get his chances this weekend. Dormady has to prove he can perform in a game like he does in practice. That hasn't happened yet. I do think one of those two extremely talented QBs is going to step up soon and the offense is going to be good.

Another poster who hasn't got a clue. Dormady proved he can perform in a game. Taking the team 93 freaking yards at the end of reg was huge. Unless he gets hurt, Dormady is the man. Sorry, but he's better than JG and that's why he played the whole game

When did we see JG play to say Dormady is better? Dormady earned the start. Doesn't mean he is better. You are probably one of those that has been saying Dormady is better than Dobbs too. We see that was wrong.

I thought Dormady played good. We really won't know how good this passing offense is until after Fla and GA. Real SEC defenses. Ga tech has an average defense. Those two games will tell us how well this line can protect, how well recs get open and catch the ball, and how good qd is. If one of these three is no good, I still think run the ball and feature read option with JG is how our offense can best move the ball.

Hopefully, this passing attack with qd will continue to improve because it seems that CBJ has chosen his man and the style of offense he wants this year

I though that for the first game that QD started that he played fairly well. Yes he had some bad throws and he had some good throws. I thought that the coaching staff needed to give him some help in the first half. In other words screen plays and short throws to the side lines.

Swain is a joke. He's always negative towards CBJ. I think QD was definitely off/nervous in the first half. He threw into double/triple coverage a number of times throughout the game. He also consistently threw behind receivers. In his defense he had just as many catchable, dropped balls. I think everybody wants JG to play a lot this week, but the coaches played the kids that they felt gave them the best chance to win. If Swain wants to coach, then he should go coach somewhere. It's real easy to be a Monday morning QB at a B Team radio station. If JG gets on the field and ends up being the better QB then he should get the job....but the time to find that out was not Monday night. At least QD had played in a number of games and had a great spring game (JG did not show well).

How typical of a former wide receiver giving credit to the wide receivers for bailing Dormady out. I wonder how many times he thinks he bailed out Ainge
