I have to say that I think he's making too much of the A&M defense. I watched their game with UCLA (who is not great themselves) and the Bruins had 468 total yards and 28 first downs despite 3 turnovers. The Arkansas final score was also a little misleading. Sure, we are inconsistent and can lose the game without a great effort but those of you who think we match up better with Alabama than we do A&M are kidding yourselves. This is not a great team we are getting ready to play.

I am not scared of A&Ms defense at all, I just think we will have to outscore them in a shootout to win.

People predicting a blowout, or basically guaranteeing a loss, is what kills me. When this season started, we all hung our hats on the fact that we were 9-4 and lost all 4 games in 2015 by a combined 17 points.

Now we're 5-0 and STILL our last 4 losses are by a combined 17 points (2 playoff teams and the SEC East champ made up 3 of them), and we're supposed to be intimidated by Texas A&M?

We haven't lost in 11 games, and haven't been blown out since mid-2014...... but sure, Texas A&M is going to stomp us. Why not, right?

Sorry I'm just so sick of hearing about how surely this team is going to beat us. If I was an Aggie I would be terrified of this game.

Not counting them out at all, gnm. Some, me included, are just saying it's going to be a mighty tall mountain to climb. If we were at full strength and no injuries, I'd be way more comfortable, but we're not. Hope springs eternal.... GO VOLS!!!

I'm the opposite.

When we're at full strength it makes this staff more comfortable. And when they're comfortable they become conservative. That puts us in compromising situations.

I like it when the staff knows our defense is porous and we may not have Hurd available to run up the middle every time on first down.

I want them to just ride Dobbs all game. Put the game in his hands from the jump and lets play thru him every down. They only let Dobbs loose when we are down 14+ points. And I don't know of you've noticed but that's usually when we play our best ball.

Let Dobbs be Dobbs all game and we win.

Sorry, if we spot them 28, we're toast. We have to play a complete four quarters of smart football to take this one. Could be the toughest test of all we play this season, IMHO....

This team lead the National Champions in their house with a Heisman Trophy winner pounding the rock and explosive Calvin Ridley and every other 5 star on the roster...just a few FG's away from winning...couldn't close the deal on Big 12 Champ play off bound OU....should've been SEC East champs and beat Florida last year....and now we are LAMBS FOR SLAUGHTER????

This team will bring it this game for 4 quarters...Dobbs rushes it more than 15 times=victory might be wrong but we haven't lost with him as a starter when he has ran it at least 15 times....people keep doubting Team 120....but they are a few dropped passes away from having putting 50+on the best defensive unit in college football front to back....a lazy effort TD fumble against UGA to kill momentum and allow Georgia to believe....the target has been on OUR backs so far this season and we have been given everyone's best shot at breaking us....now it is T-AM's turn fro wear the bullseye for the first time this season. We are favored to lose for the first time this year....BEST THING FOR A BLUE COLLAR TEAM....I'm just saying:dunno:

They ran Dobbs sparingly early maybe saving him for the 4 game stretch . I believe his run totals increase this week and next . Then the bye week
then USCe and then Tenn Tech. so these next 2 games all in then get a little rest.

I'm not, General. I got to know some of his assistants and the Strength and Conditionig coach, Dwight Galt that season and bet on Vandy every game, except one. Won a pot full....

This is my point. Dobbs carried it 17 times against Florida....14 times against UGA and VaTECH...9 against Appy St....11 against Ohio...15+ is the magic # for victory.

I agree... and fwiw, John Chavis in close, high scoring games doesn't scare me. John Chavis with a 7 point 4th quarter lead doesn't scare me. John Chavis on 3rd and 10 doesn't scare me. If we have a 1st and 10 at our own 20 with 2 minutes left in the game and we're down 35-31, I'm getting a cold one and celebrating our imminent victory because... John Chavis doesn't scare me. He has made a career out of losing 4th quarter leads.

I agree the fans need to be fully onboard and supporting the team with confidence this weekend.

If we can beat A & M....

It will be the first time on that third Saturday in October since 1989 that an undefeated Tennesse will meet an undefeated Alabama.

Talking about a crazy Knoxville if that happens!

I think we win and put away the doubt this game. We are better than Texas a&m and it's not close, talent wise. We'll have some issues up the middle, same as the uga game but tk jr will stop the big runs. Thank you, Vol74, for clearing this up. I don't think it is necessary for us as fans to know the details of his injury, but I'm so tired of people suggesting that this is all stemming from him being benched for that fumble that I'm glad you stepped up to put that to rest.

For those that still think JH was benched for some attitude or effort issue - maybe you have short memories. We are talking about Jalen Hurd here. He has carried our team - literally - on multiple occasions.

All oppinions thank goodness. Crystal ball predictions. This is so comical. But entertaining. Every since the App St game it all started. Truth is that our coaches are doing a much better job. Yes the players have for some reason got a strange thing going on the first 30 minutes but they have adjusted and found a way to over come execution problems they have had. The talent level of our players is just as good or better than the teams we have played or will play in the SEC this year. Next Man Up seems to be working now with those recruited since CBJ has been here. Fact is we are a good FB team. All the buzz words to describe this team coming from CBJ is spot on. We are undefeated after being down double digits in the first half most of the year. Do not give up on this team. They believe in themselves as a team. You should too.

I don't understand the hate on Swain and Stokes. It's called "The Swain Event", so he is the focus while Stokes puts the show together and backs Swain up. This is a formula for most sports shows out there. But do keep in mind that Stokes has a press pass and sees much more of the team that most of us.

I like the perspective a former player can give and I appreciate that even though he is a true VFL, he is not a full sunshine pumper. Could anyone honestly say they enjoy Doc & Heather or get more insight from them?

Swain Event is a quality show. Some people will find anything to complain about.
