"I'm really liking what I'm seeing from rookie cornerback Cameron Sutton.
He had a nice interception this week, leaping high to come down with a pass. The young corner has shown good aggression in jumping routes and making plays on the football. He gets his hands on the ball - a lot.
I think the Steelers fans are going to be very happy with him as well. He looks like a player"

Sorry everybody, this is going to be tough news to take. Yes, Cam Sutton may have been a 4-year starter in the SEC, and yes, he's a physical shutdown corner with elite ball skills, punt return ability and locker room leadership. But unfortunately he's only 5'11" with 4.5 speed, so because he's 1' shorter and .05 slower than the ideal prospect he'll never amount to anything in the pros.

But he has a 5* heart.

No surprise here. If he had been perfectly healthy all season he would've been drafted in the first two rounds this year. Still wish the Titans could've nabbed him.

this was a great pick up for Steelers, and Sutton. they need help at CB, and he has a chance to play for a great organization that will emphasize defense, always try to be good up front, and allow the back 4 to be play makers.

still just an opportunity, and while i'm glad to hear stuff like this in the off season...it's the off season. we'll see what happens in the fall...

but not really surprised that he would impress early on.

If Coleman can get solid play time for the Pats then Sutton can run it in Pitt.

He'll be a solid player in the NFL imo.

I think he will too. But, tempering any enthusiasm based on the evaluations of a newspaper beat reporter/columnist is not the worst thing to consider. This is not a football guy quoting this.

I'm curious if it's common for the Washington Observer to do player stories for the Steelers. I'm not from that area so it may be but I find that odd. Who knows, could be an around the league piece.

Washington County, PA. Yes, he's a beat reporter/blogger for the Steelers. It's really called the observer-reporter and not the "Washington Observer"
