I thought in another post that you and Butchna had JRM as the most important player and the second coming of Al Wilson? I'm mostly just bustin your chops. :p

Heh, I love JRM, Hubbard. If I remember that conversation right, we held it about the time some writer penned an article about "JRM; the Most Important Player Noone Is Talking About" or something like that. And I think I would certainly have agreed with that. Because that's when all the pre-season award watch lists were being published, and Hurd and Sutton and Maggitt and Barnett and Dobbs and so on were all getting a lot of attention, but the world was pretty quiet on JRM. Who quietly went on being a leader of the defense and one of the most dynamic players we have.

So yep, I definitely like giving JRM props; he's a great guy. He and Curt Maggitt are the natural leaders of the team, I think.

But Cam, Cam is the Alpha Male right now. Best athlete, best pure football player, on the team. :)

p.s. Good to see you back, it's been a little while!

If he were to do that- come back. He would solidify himself as one of the best players in UT history.

-Peyton
- Berry
- White
- Wilson
- Atkins
- Sutton

There would be no "slump" He just plays ball.
If you played him offense any at all, he would make an impact there.

Alright... i'm done :hi:
Add Bob Suffridge to the list.

For all the younger whipper snappers, Tennessee had an All American defensive back in the late 70's named Roland James. Later played for New England in the NFL. Cornerback, Strong Safety, Nickel Back. He could do it all and do it well.

Freshman year in 76 he had a total of 131 tackles & assists. in 78 he had 7 ints. in 79 he was 1st Team AA
Awesome!!!!

I've been around a long time but I will say this cam is a great corner and the best lockdown corner I have ever seen in college. My gawd, the skill set he has is amazing and it's not just that the intangibles with cam are ridiculous. The young mans dedication to be the best and stay driven is remarkable. Enough with my man crush. But I will leave you with this, general neyland's "give your all for tennessee" foresaw the future when he made that statement and saw cam sutton staring him in the eyes. We should all be thankful for cams gifts

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall he got torched on one of those one on one deep sideline throws last week. I know 99% of them were #13 but seem to remember cam got burnt good once as well. Can anyone confirm?

What is Cam's speed? He is elite at a lot of things, but that is the only thing I can see potentially holding him back at the next level.

Admittedly, I don't know his speed so that's why I asked. If his 40 is where it needs to be, he's a first round pick for certain.

The only time I remember them throwing to him he almost got a pick

CBJ knows it too. The footage of their practice that aired the other day before the game shows CBJ always looking for him and calling him out. Coach trying to continue to push him and get more out of him. That can go both ways, either they arent cutting it or the coach wants to see one of their stars players excel even further. We know Cam isn't lacking, so that leaves the second.
