I'm telling you. Next year's class is a Top 10, maybe Top 5, as long as we have a winning season. Butch has to give these recruits (and this state) a reason to believe.

I could probably pull this top 10 class next year post from threads the last few years. Dooley was awesome when he "closed the deal" on a few recruits that Kif had already sold them on the school and it was all down hill from there. I'm afraid all this speed we are supposed to be recruiting is gonna end up being a bunch of little guys getting carried down the field by a Bama RB.

Yes...but here's the difference, though unproven.

I actually believe Butch can coach. I never thought that about Dooley.

Dooley closed the deal on some high profile recruits yes. But if he were still coach, our class would be garbage, because recruits now know that he can't coach his way out of a paper bag. When the excuses ran out, Dooley was exposed.

I really think that Butch Jones is going to be a great one here.

Not to mention we are putting our defense into the hands of the only two coaches Mark Richt has ever fired.

Franklin's been winning at Vandy for two years now with less talent than UT has and he's not near the coach CBJ is. He may not get it totally turned around in a year, but it won't take long.

Maybe there is a surprise here. Just tweeted by CBJ a few minutes ago. Even if it is just someone confirming their commitment, I love having this type of visibility. However, someone we knew was going to sign doesn't usually warrant chest bumps.

so what would you rather people be? Negative Nancies, whining little *****es complaining about how bad it sucks to be a UT fan right now? I just don't understand people who attack "sunshine pumpers" as if being positive is a bad thing.

Current UT Football: 4th coach in 6 years, 5-19 in the SEC last 3 years, 28-34 overall last 5 years, 2 bowl games last 5 years - going 0-2 in those bowl games. You should be thankful there are still UT fans out there willing to pump some sunshine, otherwise you'd be living in a dreary, dark closet.

Having your head in the clouds and being a blindly positive sunshine pumper is just moronic. Nothing ever gets resolved or fixed by refusing to see reality.

That is very debatable about Franklin not being near the coach Butch Jones is. Until Jones wins in the SEC I would temper my expectations a little more.
