I think it's safe to say that the "surprises" that were supposed to happen as per a couple weeks ago, probably won't happen.

Green gone. Lawson gone. Levenberry gone. Barber gone. C morris gone. Gibson all but gone. Davin all but gone. Trey j all but gone. Ford likely gone.

Most others we are in play for i would not consider surprises. the only "surprise" that seems likely at this point is Tyler Boyd and IMO that development happened after the "surprise" statement.

It worries me that this staff almost appears too confident and willing to openly make promises that I think will be hard to keep(surprises, Any parent contact whenever, etc). Big east recruits won't cut it here. I don't doubt they can recruit well, and i dont doubt they can get the recruits that by all means should be vols(guys like bell and carr). but can they go head to head for the players that are anyones to get, or someone elses to get, and out recruit everyone else who can also recruit well to get those players? Bc that is what it's going to take for ultimate success as a state that does not support itself talent alone.

This is not a "the sky is falling" thread. With that in mind, please discuss.

BUTch is going to have to win with less. With that said, they did pull North just recently. That was big. There is much better talent in the state starting next year. BUTch should win 8 games next year and pull a top 5 class in one of the recruiting services. We will have lots of scholarships to give next year (kind of like GA this year.) It will happen.

Win 8 games next year? I doubt that, but I will be happy to be wrong.

Last year at this time, I wanted to save scholarships for this year's in-state talent which included Ramsey, Herron, etc. I agree next year's class is loaded though. Maybe this new staff got the memo.

Really hard to find 8 games I feel confident calling wins next year. Our schedule next year is even harder than it was this year.

The only surprise we might get tomorrow is that our last hope for getting a really big time player on D is leaving us at the altar for Ohio St.

You can't win in the SEC without the necessary talent. It just won't happen. When will you sunshine pumpers ever figure that out?

So we didn't have the talent to beat UGA, Mizz, Miss ST, or Vandy this year? And by the way...bite me!

And really it appears that a BOOM for this staff is a meh for the fans....

After all, he thinks this is the best staff in the country minus Tee.

A nice surprise would be if we could get a commit from a 2014 prospect. If a player like Neiko Creamer or Jalen Hurd could commit tomorrow, I think it'd make people feel a lot better.

I'm telling you. Next year's class is a Top 10, maybe Top 5, as long as we have a winning season. Butch has to give these recruits (and this state) a reason to believe.

We won't win 8 in the regular season. 7-5 with bowl win for 8-5 would be great IMO

I really feel like that's the only way to really get the Butch train rolling. People need to see an OBVIOUS difference between what Dooley did and what Butch does. If things look the same, Tennessee will continue to look the same. We've got to have a drastic change of things. Which is why I'm glad that this staff has been together so long. I think the continuity is going to pay off more than we realize.
