Brandon breaking out this season..You can only hold a player back so long

What? Haha

Ain't nobody been holding him back.
He's the returning leading receiver!

Expect continued progress from him. Needs to get more physical though.
Needs to get more explosive.

But he is our most consistent WR.

With the new coaches, I see both the offensive and defensive lines taking big steps forward.

Hope to God it's not a true freshman. Hopefully a Juco transfer or somebody getting bigger and stronger in the S&C program.

Dominek Anderson

Will Ignont

It's a long shot but I have a feeling the freshman carvin will start day one and be the biggest surprise on offense.
On defense I believe Shy will finally get healthy and Fitzgerald and Rocker transform into the beast he was his freshman year.

Someone needs to put the Bane mask on this pic of Bain. If they haven’t already.....

His breakout will depend on the overall improvement of his OL, so I hope the most improvement in the offense is within the entire line.

I'm with you. I believe it all hinges on the OL. I also believe that the OL is being underestimated. As usual, a injury or two could spell disaster but if they stay healthy, they could be really good. Richmond, Carvin (or Locklear, niehaus, johnson, lane,Kennedy, or Tatum), Kennedy, Tre Smith, and Hall (or Smith, Brooks, Carvin and a few I'm sure I'm forgetting) could prove to be a formidable offensive front. Add in 1 or 2 tight ends and large receivers we have then we should have a nasty running game.

I think he’ll just continue his play from last year. Can’t really say the leading tackler willl finally have a breakout year ha

I would still consider him a breakout player. Last season he comes out and has 20 tackles in the 1st game yet he has to split reps with several other players just to see the field. Though he battled through injuries all season and split reps with everyone, he still ended up with 90 tackles. If some people haven't heard of him yet, they certainly will in a few short months. Daniel Bituli will have a breakout monster season. Book it!!

Kongbo going to finally learn how to play.

Wonder how he will adjust to standing.

Didnt that tremendously help lawrence taylor?

I'm thinking it was moving to OLB in parcell's 3-4 is what fully brought the beast mode out. Something about getting his fingers out of the dirt somehow helped his explosiveness. Of course 4-3 rush end and 3-4 olb rushing is almost the position. Except for how you start the play...so as a result he should see many more snaps from a two point stance.

If it makes sense with anyone....maybe kongbo. He definitely seemed stiff, slow to fire and to always lose leverage battles.... and starting from a 3 (or 4) point seemed the equivalent of putting him concrete shoes.

This seems slightly counterintuitive since these stances exist to help gain leverage, for instance 4 point helping you "dig in" to stop the run....but some athletes "fire off" much better, play faster, and pass rush much more effectively from a two point.

I always thought his technique/footwork/hands were off. It's like he could never fire off the offensive lineman, always got locked up with them and couldn't get away. I think in HS and JUCO he could use his strength and athleticism to do it, but when you're at the D1/SEC level you need to actually have the skillet to go with the athleticism. Could be wrong though.

Well, i read up on LT. He was definitely more effective at ROLB, but the change i may have been thinking of was him going fro MLB back to OLB. PARCELLS moved him to middle in 83' and he didn't take to it well.

Otherwise he was moved from de to olb his junior year of college. So i got some old memories mixed up maybe.

Man, I think there is so much talent on this roster... I believe one of two of the sure thing azz whippings they are scheduled to get, will not happen. Gonna surprise a couple of teams this year, and that will be a direct link to being coached up to SEC standards (FINALLY!)

Defense- Greg Emerson
Has the potential to be legit pass rusher off the edge.
Offense-Jerome Carvin
He has the benefit of enrolling in January and going through spring and summer workouts. He has elite size already and has a guy like Trey Smith to help him get accustomed to
College ball/school.
Special Teams- Brent Cimaglia
We’re gonna need a solid kicker to help generate points, hopefully BC can become more reliable in the clutch this year.

With fall practice just a week away, the anticipation is almost over. New coach, new schemes, new expectations and many new players. VN is abuzz with forecasts and predictions...

Every year, on most every team, a surprise breakout player or two emerges...who ya got?!

Defense- Alontae Taylor

Offense- Jordan Murphy

Have to say that Alontae will def show his potential and versatility
Hoping wolf will show why Pruitt likes him

Idk if Emerson will be playing off the edge
