Surprise breakout player this fall..

With fall practice just a week away, the anticipation is almost over. New coach, new schemes, new expectations and many new players. VN is abuzz with forecasts and predictions...

Every year, on most every team, a surprise breakout player or two emerges...who ya got?!

Defense- Alontae Taylor

Offense- Jordan Murphy

Defense: Theo Jackson

Theo should get playing time by them rotating in db's during the game. Once he shows what he can do, he will move up and get more playing time.

Offense: Palmer

With Jennings, Calloway and Johnson on the field, Palmer may not see the field a lot, unless someone has a minor injury and he sneaks into the regular rotation for a game or two. Still think that he will play well this season and with Jennings and Calloway leaving for NFL after this season, Palmer will be DA MAN in 2019.

If any of our CBs has a "surprise breakout year" -- and I am not doubting them -- I would say our overall success chances have taken a major leap forward.

I would go with Alontae Taylor and Shamburger on Defense. Maybe Emerson or Gooden too.
Both TEs Wood-Anderson and Eli Wolf on Offense...and potentially the speedster Latrell Williams if he is healthy.

I'll go with Ryan Thaxton. Not sure if he will be able to tunnel through the wall by the end of the year, though. Mods delete if too soon

Shamburger broke out last year. Hope he does a double breakout this year. He has a nose for the ball and very sticky hands.

Shamburger broke out? Really? None of the corners broke out.... Couldn't tackle in open space to save their lives.....

Plus they played 10 yds off every play...
