We now have a new football coach. Our hope is toward the future.

I am frustrated and disgusted to see some "Vol Fans" have felt the need to jump in with both feet to tell us how awful things are and will be.

The negative comments are most likely, from people who have no clue as to what is really happening, or what went into the true search and decision, but they want to be the first to try to show just how negative they can be.

I have not been happy with the direction we have been going, but I see a clean slate with high hopes for a new, better direction.

My suggestion: bite your tongue, or tape your fingers, if you cannot be positive and support our Vols. Our players have heard all the negative comments they can handle. They need positive input.

Please be a true TENNESSEE VOL FAN and get behind this hire and our team. We need positive input now.

All those who cannot do this, please move on to the team you want to support, and don't try to destroy ours.

Personally I think the guy may surprise. I imagine he may able to get more out of the young men than Pruitt did.

Thank goodness my sons and I can bond through outdoors/sportsman activities, because I haven’t been able to get any of them interested UT football. Sad but true scenario I’m sure a lot of us are facing. Tennessee has pretty much lost a generation of fans, even the recent grads I’m around don’t seem to be nearly as passionate about UT as us older hats

Being happy with everything the school does doesn't make you a true fan. It makes you a sheep.

True fans can be unhappy with decisions and still watch every Saturday, complain on Volnation, and fill their house with Tennessee stuff.

Get over yourself

We either back the people that have been hired to do the job or give up completely on Tennessee football.
It's our choice. I am choosing to back these guys 100%

I will always support the program and always support the young men who choose to come here and put on that uniform. That being said, I will continue to be critical of coaches who make millions if they don't produce.

Does anyone think that now we have a new coach that a couple of the players will not transfer now

I think a lot of offensive players will stick around. Oddly enough, I think Brandon Johnson transfered to UCF to play in this offense

Sometimes one has to face reality. The reality is we again tried to throw big bucks a a "home rum" coach and they again turned us down. I think the biggest problem is our last coaching staff was caught cheating. The head coach and two assistants were fired. The NCAA has not yet finished their investigation and some think the penalties will be sever. The coaches who said they did not want the job seem to fear they will not do well here even though we were will to throw a bunch of cash their way. I am pleased that a good he'd coach is willing to come into this environment and attempt to rebuild our football program. If he wins the SE great. If he doesn't, I believe he will have our football program in a much better place than it has been in the past 15 years. Maybe you should get over yourself.

Its a shame all them young men transferred and now your left with a 4 win head coach and a bunch more of those players likely to leave after this splash hire. Sometimes you just have to let it go and except reality. That reality is we suck and that will continue to be the case. It's a shame but here we are and here we are going to stay. The light at the end of the tunnel is just the NCAA train that going to run thru what's left of this program.

I find nothing wrong with being disappointed by a hire. What is annoying though is people talking out their ass when they have no idea how he will do here. Give the guy a chance. This is not the most appealing job right now.

People can be unhappy with decisions, but anyone with intelligence realizes that complaining without any idea of how things may turn out is idiotic at best.

It is an individual choice, I know, but to choose to throw rocks at the program before the coach even steps onto the field is a choice made by dangerously inept people.

And, BTW, you may want to take your own advice, and GET OVER YOURSELF.
