Support the new Coach

Steele would be a mediocre hire, but he still would be a better HC at Tennessee than Derek Dooley was. We would have a better Defense and better Recruiting Classes than with Dooley's non-recruiting a$$. Steele is definitely locked in the bottom spot on Phil's "final 4 list", but he'd still be a way better hire than when Mike Hamilton handed the reigns to freaking Derek Dooley from LaTech, smh. THAT, my friend, was a bad day for UT football.

And yet we still filled Neyland week in and week out. We have our all for Tennessee for 10 years of crap sandwiches bad contracts premature extensions, and incompetence abounding everywhere. When the chips were down we put on more steam.

If this were a private business, I would have fired everyone from the top down.

We do not deserve another day like that again.

No, we do not. And i think things will get brighter with a solid hire. We pick the right guy outta the last DCs remaining(Tucker, Venables, and Pruitt), then we might have our guy locked in for the next 10yrs. Somebody's gotta build it back. Can't have a coaching search every 5yrs. We need 1 locked in, building it, for 10-15yrs. That's how we did with Phil, and that's how all the Top schools do it. 1 coach, let em build it, and you've got something that lasts with success for 10-15yrs before you gotta change it up. These are 3 of the BEST DCs in the whole country. From 3 of the BEST 4 teams in college football. We might get it right this time. We're not picking from Cincinnati or LaTech....we are picking from schools like Bama, Georgia, and Clemson. I think there's a difference in skill level. So I don't think it's as bad as it seems to everyone. We are gonna get one of the BEST DCs in the country(no matter which of the 3 we pick), and hand em the reigns and let em build it up, and we might have found a long term Head Coach again finally. If we hire either of those 3, then we will automatically be better on the field than we have been in the last 2yrs. We can stop losing to Kentucky and Candy and SC, smh. Venables, Tucker, and Pruitt wouldn't allow it with their pedigrees I don't believe. The future could be bright again soon.

Screw this.. the people getting PAID need to support all of us who PAY and have grown up living and breathing UT Football and will till the day we die. Stop exploiting the most "loyal, committed to their school" fan base in the country with this piss poor commitment to getting an available proven WINNER as our coach. Have a higher standard, get some higher goals and dont give up and don't settle. This is pathetic. You're killing our volunteer spirit.

I loved Fulmer and thought we should've given him another year at the time but if he doesn't man-up and hire Kiffin, Leach, or at least Tee, then he's no better than Currie playing patty-cake politics with the higher-ups bringing in someone we have NO business hiring and has totally sold-out for himself leaving us in no better place than when he left.

Won’t miss you, and I doubt the handful of others will be missed either.

The vast majority of Vol Fans are too loyal to be pissed off over a good hire just because his name isn’t Jon Gruden

Funny because UT had plenty of other good options if they had a bit of sense.

Gruden wasn’t the only guy who could have been successful here.

We’re settling for another underwhelming hire because we don’t care about winning.

Fans spend their hard earned money on tickets & merchandise to watch their favorite team play in Neyland Stadium on Saturdays. Eventually, they’ll stop because they know our Administration isn’t willing to improve our program going forward.

If you support “adding more fuel to the fire” then that’s on you.

We’re all Vol fans here but not everyone is going to keep accepting sh*tty results.

I’ll have a hard time supporting Pruitt... If Currie was the one hiring him, people would be losing their minds. But because it’s Fulmer, everyone will just blindly accept it.

Because Fulmer knows what it takes to beat Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.

I'll support the players on the team regardless. Am I a bad fan for wanting an experienced coach that could help these players win next year? They don't deserve an "on the job training" coach. Sorry but they deserve more than that.

So, at this point, whoever they trot out there will be a product of (IMO) a failed process. If I don't believe in the process why would I necessarily buy into the product? Nothing against whatever new HC they select but this process isn't working outside of a few places and coaches here and there.

Here is to crossing fingers and hoping to catch lightening in a bottle.

Look here is the deal...Pruitt, Tucker...decent hire and in reality their record would be the same as Leach. 7-5 at best. Biggest difference is Leach would not recruit and we'd be perpetually stuck between GA/FL and SC/MO/KY.
